Good variety of vegetarian and vegan options available. The veggie delight wok is very light flavour wise but generous with fresh vegetables. The general Tao tofu is a bit too greasy and sweet and saucy for me. I recommend the Shanghai noodles. Overall, nothing fancy but gets the job done. Not too salty but the food overall is bland in flavour for me. Service is friendly and order was ready on time.

I ordered the sesame chicken, spicy Thai shrimp soup and the Thai shrimp rolls. Sesame chicken is good! The soup is pretty tasteless. The shrimp rolls are decent, I was hoping they were fresh rolls but I should have asked before ordering.

Their food is good. Being from Toronto and growing up in Chinatown it’s honestly the best place in town compared to others. Their shrimp in lobster sauce didn’t disappoint. It’s not what I’m used to growing up but it comes close. I’ve tried all the other joints around the Bay of Quinte and for a legit Chinese restaurant that isn’t boujee and overpriced, this place hit the spot. They know what’s up.

I ordered from uber eats, so I didn’t spend time inside the restaurant. But I’ve ordered from here 4 times before and the food I’m craving always shows up exactly as I like it. Very notably, the food is not over salted, as happens with many Chinese take aways. What should’ve crispy is always crispy. Hot. And veg is done nicely.

First off, I must say that the food was amazing. Super flavourful and great portion sizes.
That being said, I ordered at 430pm and was told my order wouldn’t be ready until 615pm. True to their word, that’s about when it was ready. I understand staffing shortages and peak ordering times, but that was a tad extreme for a wait.
Unfortunately those wanting to dine inside arent able to do so as they still have the dining room closed due to the reduced staffing.
If I am focusing on the food though, it is great, and service/staff interaction was very kind and pleasant.

Jan 2024…. Still great food. Thursdays are their busiest day, order at least 1 hour ahead.
Take out only, but it’s GOOD take out. No online ordering and the phone service is slow. Food is ready when they say it is going to be ready and the orders are correct.

The combo I ordered was the General Tao Chicken + Mixed Vegetables + Chicken Fried Rice. The chicken was’t bad, and the vegetables were fine too, but man was the fried rice terrible. It lacked any flavour. Prices are average.

Another great meal from Golden Wok, have been eating their food for years. Still tasty as ever the vegetables were delicious, the combination in the Cantonese chow mein was cooked just right. Egg rolls were very good. Compliments to the staff keep up the good work.

Quantity of food for was great but unfortunately it was a little tasteless. We have Chichen fried rice, sweet and sour chicken balls, and some spring rolls. Possibly just got an odd batch but the classic taste wasn’t all there.
