The hamburger patties and eggs were cooked to perfection and so delicious as for the onion rings they were the best I’ve had! We were immediately seated and the service was fantastic. We have been to Mesquite too many times to count and this was our first time eating at this restaurant. It did not disappoint in any way. The small size and age of the property is probably why I never thought of going here. I’m sorry to have waited so long as this is now our go to place for delicious food!

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by this place. It might not seem like the best place to go for a really good meal, but it is. The seasoning of the food is delicious, the price is surprisingly good, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. It definitely feels like a traditional Old West place. The music playing was quite nice as well. We went on Father’s Day, and they had a special menu for all the dads. The portions are generous. My husband and I will definitely stop there again sometime soon for something delicious.

Unfortunately an UNUSUALLY HORRIBLE FOOD pm EXPERIENCE!! Also In fact, the person waiting on our table this evening, 6 pm, a young man. First, Took FOREVER to get waited on table of 4, in the dining room. FOREVER!!
Kitchen: Then took FOREVER for food to arrive. At 6:00 pm I ordered the chicken noodle soup. Soup of the day. Waiter said he thought that the chicken noodle soup was gone. The 3 others at our table ordered their food too. Took 40 MINUTES TO GET those choices. It was NOT UNTIL THEIR FOOD was served that the waiter informed me that there was NO CHICKEN NOODLE soup to be had! So every one else received their entree plates!!! Just incredible!!
Couldn’t he have immediately let me know that the soup was not going to be available. NOT!! By then , this late notification meant my ordering something else would have meant another half hour to get something??? Yes, and while my table would have already been served & finished eating, I would have had to wait another half hour beyond them being served???
Another waitress inquired about had we ordered!!! Yes, like half an hour ago. She came back and reported that the kitchen had a lot of pick up orders to fill…before getting to us as in the restaurant customers!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS??? We had brought out of town family to eat there, saying that the GW was the best for a down home Mesquite cafe. Soooo EMBARRASSING to have this very horrible experience!!! Just awful.

Guess we’ll have to stick to am breakfast if at all. Would dread to think that your breakfast will be screwed up too!!

There are always a lot of people who come here for the food. The Golden West has some great burgers and sandwiches. Actually we’ve never been disappointed. The atmosphere is fairly loud. But you can easily hold a conversation. It is a Casino so expect that type of atmosphere. The food is worth the visit.

Normally I really like this place but on this visit I had the chicken tortilla soup and it was extremely disappointing. I brought it home so I could doctor it up. My husband had the club and it was huge and good according to him. His tator tots were over cooked; not burnt but extremely crispy. It was very slow today but our service was great. Just because my soup was not at all good, I have been there on many other occasions where my meal was delicious. I may just shy away from their soup.

It’s a bar atmosphere. Customer service friendly, quick, and efficient. Inside there are slot machines, a bar, and a dining area. It’s dark, dingy, smells like smoke so if you do not like or want to be in the atmosphere then this would not be the place for you. If you can overlook that then it could be enjoyable. We stopped in for a bite to eat and put a few dollars in the slots. Food was good and my mom’s luck even better.

Went to GW last evening for their Friday Prime rib special. In prior visits, it has been good to fair, however, last evening, it was horrible. Ordered medium rare 12oz. It came out under cooked and none of its appearance led us to believe it had just been carved from the roast, but rather cooked like a paper thin boneless rib eye steak. It was tough, dry and lacked any semblance flavor. Inquired with our wait staff and was told they were only down to the ends of the roast. You don’t get med rare on end pieces. Waitress should have just told us they were out of the prime rib. We could have opted for another choice.
They did give us a discount, but not enough to offset what we left in uneaten food. Hopefully, this was a one off instance. GW, you can do better.

Great wait staff here, we had Marie waiting on us and our order was pancakes and a side of sausage. A Mesquite burger and tater tots, both meals were great and tasty, in addition we got a couple of sodas.
We went to the bar a little later and it was full in all seats with the local senior citizens and they all had gambling machines and a drink.
We finally found a place to sit and gamble, along with a drink the bartender was great as well
