While on my way to the cemetery just north of here on Cherry, I decided to have my lunch here. These older, independently owned type burger joints usually serve up good grilled burgers and fries.
I was happy that they had really good burgers here. I got their pastrami burger with the optional fried zucchini side and an ice tea to wash it down.

Our 1st time on a Thursday around 6pm. There were like two other parties of two eating there. We were greeted and seated down right away. The place is celebrating 60 years, it’s family owned. The seats go around most of the table and are hard and old. They could really use some work. Nevertheless, we were excited to check out this place. The host was nice and brought menus. He took our drink order and came back shortly to take our order. The wifey and I both ordered burgers. She went with the avocado burger and onion rings, I went with 1/3 LB cheeseburger with fried zucchini. The food took a bit, and when it came out, we jumped right in. Everything looked great and big in size. The zucchini was great with ranch dressing. The onion rings along with the burgers were lacking flavor. We both found ourselves adding black pepper and a little bit of salt to bring out the flavor. I think the meat patty and the breading used on onion rings could use some seasoning. The servers came around a few times to check on us. We thought that was nice. The food could definitely use more flavor for our taste, but the place and service were good.

2. Prices are cheap.
The bad:
1. There is not anyone greeting you upon arrival, and this brings a sense of no one caring.
2. Although the waitress was not rude, she could have been more friendly and attentive.
The ugly:
1. The quality of food is poor.
2. No flavor at all.
3. Turkey bacon was almost burned, and toast was very, very greasy.
Summary:
You get what you pay for. Overall, this would be my last choice…

i like the food at this place. one complaint and tbis seems to be the case MOST everywhere. french fries i like mine well done or id rather have none. i ordered em well done n they came kinda soggy in my opinion so what do u do? me i keep my tip…all n of it because they wont comp your meal anymore so the alternative is bring n u crispy ones but by then my burger is already eatin or they wut take my whole plate n bring it back not only after the fries are crispy but my date has then finished eating so we dont eat together. both alternatives are unacceptable solutions to an ongoing pet peeve

As planes departed Long Beach airport overhead I enjoyed a perfect diner breakfast. I’m a sucker for a French toast plate and this did not disappoint. Even I. This economy it was a rational price for real food. If you need your bacon in a carbon consistency ask for well, mine was perfectly cooked (a little chew to it) and the coffee was the best diner coffee I’ve had in a long time! (And they serve real maple syrup) I’ll be back for the spaghetti and meatballs special on Wednesday for sure!

Worst service I have ever had. The place was empty maybe about 3 tables were occupied. Idk if the waitress was tired, but she was acting annoyed with us and the family that came after us. She kept forgetting to bring us little things. I never got my water, and my husband got the shrimp and steak, and they forgot the shrimp. She brought him small breaded shrimp, and when on the menu, it says jumbo shrimp, then when I asked for my fruit plate, she said annoyingly “yeah I know it’s coming.” It took a really long time to get my daughters fruit plate.
We will never return to that place again. We still left her a tip because we don’t really know her situation. But I still believe she should have at least faked it.
Oh, and they don’t have changing tables for babies in the restroom.

They put a lot of love in their food served. Meals are delicious. The waitresses are very accommodating to the customer and friendly. Yes there’s plenty of parking. My favorites? Chorizo breakfast and tortilla soup/salad for lunch. Yummy.
