I ordered Mongolian beef from Golden Spring, and what I received was completely unacceptable. When I opened my meal, several pieces of the “beef” were raw and pink on the inside — clearly undercooked and unsafe to eat. I called the restaurant right away, and the person on the phone told me to bring it in so they could look at it.
When I arrived, instead of acknowledging the issue, the staff tried to tell me that the raw-looking meat was “the flower of the Mongolian beef” and that it was normal. I’ve had Mongolian beef many times in my life, and nothing about this looked or tasted normal. It was simply undercooked meat.
Not only was the food unsafe, but the way the situation was handled felt dismissive and unprofessional. I was essentially told that what I was seeing with my own eyes wasn’t real.
I won’t be returning, and I hope they take food safety — and honesty with customers — more seriously in the future. Someone else could have been misled and eaten the undercooked meat, which could have resulted in serious illness.

11/10 atmosphere. Staff is sincere and kind. The onions have an authentic crispy char and enormous Easter eggs of ginger are a standout style. It’s a fun BYOB spot too in Sonoma Wine Country. This visit we chose @maisondesplaisances

Ordered from this place last night and what a surprise. They have hands down the best spring rolls I have ever had. It was larger in size with a great crunch on the wrap but also a nice crunch on the veggies inside. The General chicken was amazing with with an amazing sweet and spicy sauce. I also had their Chao mein, fried rice, and chicken with snow peas which was delicious. I may pick up some more egg rolls to go… today.

One of our go to take out foods in Sonoma. Service is always tops and the food is great. Love their Mongolian Beef, chicken in bean sauce, general tsao chicken and wonton soup. They really do a great job all around and couldn’t be nicer!

Not the fanciest Chinese restaurant out there, but more like good home cooking and you’d be hard pressed to find a better place north of the bay. The most delicious dish I would suggest is any of the fried rice plates. Some of the best fried rice I’ve ever had. Do order at least a half hour ahead of time so you don’t have to wait long though. Family owned restaurant.

We have always ordered take out and enjoy Golden Spring’s fresh food with no msg, nicely cooked and friendliness of the entire family! Their vegetable spring rolls are so crunchy and the veggies delightful.
Nice selection on their menu as well. Glad that we have this family in Sonoma! And, they are open on Sundays!

Any negative reviews … are bogus. I grew up in the Bay Area and know the difference between awesome Chinese cuisine and average. Golden Spring is the absolute best Chinese I have had in nearly 30-years (this includes my travels throughout the United States and Canada).
These people are kind, attentive, reasonably quick (as fast as can be expected when quality is the focus) and they work hard to ensure we have a great dining experience each and every time.
This is one of those “hole in the wall” places that delivers excellence in every sense of the word.
