The portions were generous, the presentation was beautiful, and everything tasted fresh. On top of that, the service was welcoming and quick, making the whole experience even better.
If you’re looking for authentic, flavorful Mediterranean-style skewers with top-notch quality, Golden Skewer is a must-try!
We used the banquet room and it was outstanding: spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our group. The food was delicious, and the service throughout the event was great.
Many of my former co-workers commented on how nice everything turned out, from the atmosphere to the food. The event ended up being so memorable thanks to the Golden Skewer and their team. I highly recommend the banquet room for any special occasion.
We shared a Greek salad, which was very fresh (and was enough for a party of 4 to share, although there were only two of us). I had the chicken kabob plate which was excellent, and chose only the rice pilaf, but was offered a choice of two sides. There are plenty of entrees to choose from — and they all look good!
Pita and hummus was complimentary. We were not rushed in any way.
The restaurant has a large banquet room (we held my father-in-law’s 80th birthday party here in 2003) and there was a large birthday party in progress, but you wouldn’t really know it except for the folks entering the restaurant and heading to the back.
Golden Skewer is an excellent choice . . . prices are modest and the service was very attentive.
Note: There is only the full menu, no lunch menu.
Any of the kabobs taste like my Armenian grandmother used to make. My favorite is the lamb. Tasty pork chops are really great for sharing a meal because you get 2 very large ones.
NEW Zealand lamb kabobs are the best! Tender, cooked as ordered(medium rare) and about 6-7 kabobs on my plate!
Stuffed Grape leaves(sarma), eggplant hummus(moutabal), very-creamy hummus (whipped garbanzo beans), bulgur(wheat cooked like rice) and the rest taste like homemade. FYI: Armenian salad has no lettuce vs. Greek salad, which does. Red Lentil soup served hot and seasoned to perfection.
For your plate, you can also order 1/2 and 1/2, salad and rice or fries or from other choices or a whole serving of one item.
You’ll need to remove skin from roasted green pepper ( gently scraping, two forks are good for this, after cutting off top) which is standard for Armenian food. Peppers vary in heat. Slice down the side and open pepper to remove seeds will also reduce heat. Cut a Small piece to taste is good to start with! Along with roasted tomato and raw onions, great combo.
Served with butter and pita: fresh and deep fried (like chips). We prefer fresh. And wait for meal! Save your appetite! Drink little water/coffee/soda. Worth any wait.
It would be really nice to have some Armenian music playing to enhance the vibe .
Fantastically decorated hall to rent for parties and celebrations is available. A fun time was had by all!
Sorry, food was so good that pic is from halfway through the meal. 🙁
While you can get by for way less(share a pork chop meal and water, total around $25 or so with tip) We splurged! $80 for two, including $10 tip (New Zealand lamb, porkchops, 2 cups lentil soup, grape leaves, eggplant hummous, Armenian coffee, ice tea.
When our meal real we left and headed home but the aroma from food amazing and also we got a new car scent from the food. I open the container and food looks so good but the taste incredible good so much flavors in the chicken breast kabobs season good cook perfect all the spices seal in chicken while cooking. The hummus was good then I try the rice pilaf also good then roasted vegetable very good then use the pita bread to complete the meal. The garlic spead was good but little bit strong flavor but my wife say it was little bit strong for her.
We enjoy the food we need to come back again.
