The Baseline
The Baseline: For a bar that also serves food the drinks must be good, the food offerings must fit the establishment, and the service needs to make the experience fun.
Food: Just had drinks and the Golden Road beers were very tasty. The Mango Cart draft was hoppy and had a nice hint of mango. Very enjoyable.
Service: Good solid service that was quick and efficient.
Ambiance: Grand Central Market is a bustling and vibrant. Restrooms are public to the market. Seating at the bar was easy to get and it was comfortable but the environment is loud and sometimes hard to hear conversations.

This location is in a very fun a unique spot, however, the food and service left more to be desired. The beer is solid. Straight forward Golden Road beer selections. But this review is about the lack of great customer service, and the horrible “chicken tenders”. When we sat down at a spot at the bar, we not greeted or even acknowledged. Only when we moved to a spot near the television, were we greeted (not warmly) with menus. I ordered the Chicken Tenders + Fries. What I recieved (pictured) didn’t even resemble tenders. They were rubbery, and less than a centimeter thick. The inside did not seem like chicken. Not even edible. And the fries were boring.
Perhaps just order food and take it elsewhere in Grand Central Market. Just don’t order the “Tenders”!

Great place to grab some beers while you much on different types of food at Grand Central Market. Made a day of it with a few friends to try different types of food and made our home base right by Golden Road. Tried a few different brews and there wasn’t a bad one in the bunch. I prefer double IPA’s but they even had a triple! Service was the standout here though. Had a great time!

ordered the buffalo cauliflower wings with vegan ranch. super crispy, hot, spicy and savory, great bite! the cauliflower was perfectly cooked. the vegan ranch was a great contrast to the spiciness of the wings. my cousins ordered a guava beer and a mango michelada. i don’t drink beer but i had a sip and they were pretty tasty! i would absolutely come back again. and the service was amazing!! very friendly staff.

Cute spot in the Central Market! It would be better if they use biodegradable cups or offer more canned beers. I didn’t order beer because I’m plastic-free. My canned mango sparkling wine was good but they’re known for local beer!
My vegan burger was delicious – liked their vegan cheese! My friend ordered a regular burger with vegan cheese (instead of American)- she liked it! Appreciated paper plates but server gave us too many napkins and tried to give us plastic cups (when my whole point of getting a can was to avoid plastic waste). Also disappointed they didn’t offer pretzels anymore on the menu.
️Street Meter parking nearby.

Golden Road claims to have the best Michelada in LA, and they might actually be right. Draft selection is also top-notch — I had the sour and the Street Cart and enjoyed both immensely. If I had a do-over, I’d start with the Street Cart and follow it with the more intense sour, but even in reverse they were both delicious.

Location is fun and vibrant the order taker was friendly enough but they got the order wrong. Food was also cold. On top of that the lettuce used was old and soggy absolutely disgusting and should not be served. The garlic fries were totally cold since they left he order on the waiting tray for about 10min. Extremely disappointed. I was starving and in a hurry so I ate some of it, anyways. If I had complained probably would have been another 20min of waiting.

A good place to enjoy a cold IPA in the morning. The garlic fries are really good. When it gets crowded you might need to stand in line if you want to have another one and that kinda of makes you reconsider, other than that the ambiance is nice.. cheers my Brethren…

@GoldenRoad first week of each month 6-packs are $7.00 (to go)
Restrooms are on the basement floor. Directionally challenged? -down stairs.
Happy hour out by the beer garden. New BBQ place. Mexican lager taste just like a Modelo. They have wine too.

Once the main source of groceries and services for the rich on Bunker Hill to todays diverse range of foods for local and international tastes. There’s something for everyone and you’re at the base of other landmarks like Angel Flight, The Broad Museum, MOCA and Disney Hall so you can stop in to or from these venues. It’s definitely a place to stop in at but you won’t be spending all day there. Weekends are busy and parking sucks so mid week seems to be less crowded. Take the Historic Core Walking tour if you have a chance and you will learn a lot more about this historic area and iconic market.
