Really represents the best of OKC Chinese food along with Szechuan Story.
Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, the service was inexplicably slow. After finishing my meal, I waited nearly the entire length of a Deal or No Deal episode before anyone noticed I was ready to pay. That level of inattention is hard to excuse.
The food itself is decent, and the prices are slightly below average compared to similar establishments — but no amount of savings makes up for poor service and the sense of being forgotten entirely.
Sadly, I won’t be returning. Two visits were more than enough.
BLUF/SUMMARY: We’ve been coming here for a couple years… one of only a few Dimsum places in Tulsa/OKC area. Admittedly has improved over that 2 year span. Great Dimsum selection cooked well and done authentically, also the chili oil. Our go to spot when in OKC.
DETAILS: Won’t write too much on this one, just one of our favorite spots when we crave Dimsum. The weekend Dimsum carts are a must – no need to order from their seemingly 50 page menu… it’s huge. The Dimsum selection is vast and done well, just make sure you are there early before it either runs out or gets cold. Ambiance and service is typical for this type of food. You don’t come to places like this for that – it’s about the Dimsum.
The use of “instant” condiments in a “sit down” restaurant is disqualifying. Instant hot mustard is a deal breaker. Especially, when the proper S&B is cheaper.
Rest of the food was fine, but the crappy mustard ruined the meal. Will not be back, unless they provide proper condiments.
– Hot & Sour Soup was very flavorful. It’s a 7.5/10
– BBH comes with the traditional pork hock, very lemongrassy and flavorful and it does come with a side of thinly shredded cabbage! 8/10
– Pho was pretty decent. 8/10
– Beef Chow Fun (dry) needs a little bit more wok-hay, but it was super delicious either way! 8/10
– Beef Chow Fun (wet) this was a table favorite, they loved the flavor and how authentic it tasted. 9/10
– The Sizzling Beef (korean short ribs) – oh I absolutely loved this one! It is peppery, salty, sweet and the aromas of the bellpepper and onions really shine through! 9/10
– Stir fried udon noodles – the kids really loved the thick noodles. 8/10
– Flan – oh goodness.. this was absolutely decadent! Smooth… it wasn’t too sweet and there was no bitterness to the top layer. It is a little expensive ($5 something), but it is worth it!
And to top it off, we ordered stuff to take home and… let’s just say, a few days later, IT IS STILL DELICIOUS!!!! Yummmm. Can’t wait to go back when I am in OKC :). Also, this place is very affordable! All this food and our bill was like… $120? Fed 4 hangrrrry adults & 2 kids!
