Easygoing, sit-down restaurant serving Chinese dishes including hot pot & seafood specialties.

From the quality and authenticity, Peking to Sichuan Szechuwan Golden Pheasant has taste and service easily among the best. Great for dinner, wonderful for lunch specials and for celebrating family gatherings. This is in Mayor George Chen’s City of Torrance, next to the West portion of Pinoy town City of Carson.

My nephew had his Graduation Luncheon here and all the dishes were delicious. They ordered so many dishes, I didn’t take a pic of everything. Aside from the main dining area, there is a small back area that has enough room for 5 large tables. The service even though they were packed, was good. A few times we had to wait for drink refills, but considering we were a party of almost 30 and a full restaurant. The parking is limited, but there’s additional parking in adjacent lots. The interior is the usual Chinese Restaurant decor, nothing fancy, but clean and charming. They do a significant amount of to-go trays, keep them in mind for your next gathering.

Amazingly authentic Cantonese food with HUGE portions. Super fast service from the kitchen. A bit of a hole in the wall vibe which just adds to its character and charm.

Alright, where do I start! Parking is limited. Nobody greeted us at first, but we had a seat right away once the server showed up. First time eating here, so we got a lunch special each. She got beef and broccoli and i got orange chicken, and it comes with 2 different kinds of soup. The chicken corn soup and hot and sour soup. The corn was ok, and the hot and sour was inedible. We asked for fried rice and we had to return because it was so hard. The steam rice was slightly better. We asked for soft broccoli and it came out hard, so we returned that also. The orange chicken was ok at best. I will not recommend this place, and it will not return. The server was very rude. It’s not my fault she doesn’t understand English. The portions are big, but if it’s not good, does it really matter?

The food is fast food Chinese elevated due to it being a sit down restaurant feel. This is not Chinese food- not authentic. One of ladies if you observe used one glove over and over again to clean tables to serve dishes to tables and when she is upfront collecting money etc. Also the only one that was helpful was the man who took our order and the Latin/Mexican man who was cleaning the tables. We wanted to try a Mom and Pop but were disappointed.

Ate here multiple times but this was my first time ordering “to go” because we didn’t have time to dine in. It was usually busy when we dine in. Always a waiting list. Authentic as can be Chinese Food was well worth the wait when we dine in. Food was always tasty. You get soup to start off and dessert to end your meal. Portion size was always plenty. It was definitely extra extra large servings. We ordered to go and we got plenty. The fried pork, kung pow chicken and chow fun, all were very good. We had enough for dinner too. Oh, we also got soup but no dessert.

The portions are huge! The food was very tasty. The service was fast. The restaurant needs a makeover, though. The furniture looks dingy and old.

I’ve been coming here for many years. The food is great most of the time. This past Sunday, the fish in black bean sauce was too salty. The portions are huge sometimes, and sometimes they’re not. I think sometimes they rush when busy. Service can also be better. Sometimes, you have to wave them down to get something. I am giving them 5 stars for the food. Service can be a little better as far as checking on the customer a little more.

Dearest Golden Pheasant,
I just had to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the consistently outstanding experience I have every time I dine at your restaurant. From the moment I walk through the door, I’m greeted with warmth and a genuine sense of hospitality. Anna is the best.
The food is, without a doubt, the star of the show. Each dish is a masterpiece of flavor and texture, prepared with obvious care and the freshest ingredients. The [mention a specific dish you love, e.g., “crispy Peking duck”] is simply divine, and I’m always eager to try something new from your extensive menu.
Beyond the incredible food, the ambiance is delightful. It’s a perfect blend of elegance and comfort, making it ideal for a special occasion or a casual weeknight dinner. The service is always attentive and friendly, making me feel like a valued guest.
Thank you, Golden Pheasant, for providing such a consistently wonderful dining experience. You are truly a gem, and I look forward to many more delicious meals in the future!
Sincerely,
Lee and Wife

I walked in to ask for a togo order.
If you are unsure of what items to order, ask for a menu.
The portions are huge! Consider ordering 1 side per person.
So far everything I had on the menu is good. The best item so far are the fried pork chops. They give you so many that the box cannot close.
This is the best Chinese in the vicinity, will come back.
