Good evening Google Family. I arrived in a Lyft to visit the Eastern State Penitentiary. I walked here to the Golden Lake Chinese Restaurant after the prison tour. My first time eating here. I wanted an egg roll and so I glanced around at the available options. I spotted this place when I left the CVS across the street. I was hoping that they had a dining area since I wanted to sit down and eat my food. Thank God and thank goodness there is a dining area here. I sat down when I arrived and I scanned the menu. I decided to get the Triple Delight Specialty which consisted of chicken, imitation crabmeat, crawfish, shrimp and mixed vegetables. I wanted brown rice instead of white rice and thank goodness they had brown rice which was $1.50 more. The dish was $15.99 with the $1.50 made it $17.49, which was the subtotal and the tax was $1.40 and the total was $18.89. I paid by cash. I informed the young lady that I was dining in. They thought that I was taking out. Then I went to sit down. They brought me water and I did not drink any of it since I do not want to constantly have to go to the bathroom. I will drink my water when I arrive home. My meal arrived quickly. I did not wait long. It looked so good. I am realizing more and more that presentation of the meal is just as important as the taste of the meal. The meal did not disappoint. It tasted as good as it looked on the plate. I surprised myself since I did not realize how hungry I was. I ate all of the food on the plate. It was so delicious!!! And I ate all of the brown rice. I usually do not eat the brown rice, since I am not a rice eater, but I devoured every morsel today. I laughed at myself!!! I definitely do not like white rice. When I finished I visited the rest room and it was clean. They have one rest room and it is unisex. The rest room was equipped with soap, soap dispenser and paper towels. Then I left the restaurant and called a Lyft. I walked back to Eastern State Penitentiary. I had a good eating experience here today at the chinese restaurant. Have a good night, workout, be active and mobile, fit and fabulous especially for people over 50 years of age.

We were hoping this spot would be good as it’s local but sadly some of the food was inedible.
When collecting the entrance of the restaurant smelt of sewage.
Scallion pancakes and crab rangoons were okay. For our main we ordered beef chow main and it was truly disgusting. Like no egg noodles? And watery flavourless sauce. Both me and my partner stopped eating after one mouthful and trashed the rest. Will not be back.

I spent years looking for a good takeout Chinese restaurant – and I found a great one. To be honest, there are some things on the menu I don’t love (fried rice is meh but I’m a white rice person anyways) – but what they do well they do WELLLLL. Egg rolls, lo mein, boneless spare ribs, beef and broccoli (!!!). The vegetables are fresh. The sauces are delicious. Super fast delivery. I can’t recommend enough.

Golden Lake is a great addition to the neighborhood! Everything we ordered had tons of flavor and was well prepared. We tried some Chinese take out classics but will definitely be trying some of their other dishes next time, the menu is large and has a lot of options, all at very reasonable prices.
We tried the Scallion Pancakes, Crab Rangoon, Fried Wontons, Broccoli with Garlic Sauce, Fried Pork Dumplings, General Tso’s Chicken, Shrimp Mein Fun, Cheesesteak Egg Roll, and Spring Rolls.

This is supposed to be General Tso’s and vegetable fried rice. The chicken taste like chunks of chicken tossed in bbq sauce and the fried rice is a joke it’s literally steamed yellow rice. This food has not seen a wok. I don’t know how they call themselves a Chinese restaurant.

Not good food. Wonton soup was flavorless. Sweet-and-sour chicken was OK. Spring rolls Had very little filling in the filling that was there was not good. Overall extremely disappointing.

The taste of fried rice was outstandingly good. Egg soup was quite thick. We were a little unsatisfied because Singaporemeifun was not as hot as we expected.

I decided to give this place a try since it’s in my neighborhood. I was pretty disappointed. I ordered General Tso Chicken. The chicken was very good. My vegetable fried rice was horrible. It wasn’t fried at all & had no seasoning on it. Not even soy sauce could help it. All in all I wouldn’t go back. The rice is what makes the combination platter.
