Took the 26 minute drive and so glad I did. The curry goat was tender, cabbage was not overcooked and they sealed it with the spinach rice . Definitely give it a try! It wasn’t as spicy as I like my goat, but it was seasoned very well! I did go about an hour before closing so a lot of the line up was missing but overall great experience and the team was very pleasant! I can’t wait to come back to try some other dishes

For me, going to a Jamaican or Caribbean restaurant is not just about eating, but a nostalgic event reminiscent of being back home. I felt just that the moment I walked in and the warm greeting and welcoming smile I received from my server named C.C. I ordered my favorite curry chicken with spinach rice and it was so delicious! Beyond that, it was the caring and pleasant way the meal was served on my plate and the courteous attention I was given by CC. It truly was a pleasant experience. I’ve shared my experience with many of my friends and associates and encouraged them to pay a dining visit this Golden Krust location. As for me, I will be back soon!

I had the pleasure of visiting the Golden Krust Restaurant in Garner, NC. I ordered some jerk chicken, beef patties and some ginger drink. The food was amazing!!!
I was served by a lady named Corleen, she takes alot of pride in what she does and she was very friendly, professional and courteous.
This restaurant by far has one of best foods and experience that I’ve ever had.

BUSSING,BUSSING!! This is by far some of the best FOOD I’ve had in my life. I got a small plate of stewed chicken and my wife got the oxtail and jerk pork. The plates were HEAVY. The rice and peas, the gravy, the plantains… DELICIOUS! I highly recommend you give a run.

The food is great! I had their jerk chicken with spinach rice, yellow rice, fried sweet plantains, cabbage and curry (to-go). Everything was delectable! Service could use some improvement – it wouldn’t harm to be a little welcoming and answer customers’ questions with patience.

My cousin brought me a shrimp patty from this restaurant over the weekend. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to go back to that restaurant and order dinner for the family tonight.
I went in person and was hoping to try their jerk chicken but they were out of it. Instead I ordered six shrimp patties, one small curry chicken plate, one small curry shrimp plate, and one side order of mac & cheese. The cashier was very professional, patient, and friendly. As she figured out it was my very first time at this restaurant, she allowed me space to peruse the menu before ordering.
The restaurant is kept very clean and everything smells wonderful. It’s a nice little spot. The restaurant closes at 8 PM on Fridays and by the time I made it over to the restaurant, it was already 7:15 PM. They had already started cleaning up, but was more than happy to provide me with service. The chairs were sitting on top of the tables. I am not sure if this is a safety mechanism to not allow seating during Covid or if this was done as part of the cleanup activities since they were getting ready to close.
Once my order was ready, I returned home with the food so that my family and I could have dinner. I was very pleased with the portions. Everything looked and smelled delicious.
Being a native from the Caribbean, I am very particular about my rice and peas and the seasoning and texture of food. Every item ordered was great! The rice and peas was made just how I like it. The curry shrimp and the curry chicken had an authentic curry taste. The chicken was also very tender and moist. The Mac and cheese was tasty and well put together.
The patties were made differently to how we make it in the Virgin Islands, but it was very flavorful, and the shell was soft and flaky. We enjoyed it.
I had a great first experience with this restaurant. We enjoyed everything that was ordered and the customer service was on point as well. I will definitely visit again.
February 18, 2023 Update:
I stopped by this Golden Krust restaurant again today to see if I could try their jerk chicken plate. I ordered one large jerk chicken plate to go. I did not get any gravy or anything on it. They did provide two containers of jerk sauce though.
On this visit, I observed that the table and chairs, were set out for customers to sit and eat. I guess during my first visit when I got there about 45 minutes before closing time, they had already started to clean up and prepare the restaurant for closure for the night.
I enjoyed the jerk chicken plate. Everything was flavorful, and the chicken had great texture. The jerk chicken had the right amount of pepper spice but could’ve used a little more seasoning on the meat itself. When used with the jerk chicken sauce, it gave the chicken meat more flavor. Overall, I enjoyed the jerk chicken plate, and it was a satisfying dinner.

Excellent food! Golden Krust has always been a staple up north in New York and New Jersey for some of the Best oxtails and peas and rice and Jamaican patties. This place is great, clean, friendly, and accommodating. Every time we go they never disappoint! Happy I found them!!! I’ve had their jerk chicken, curry shrimp, oxtails sooo good! I have tasted all their rice selections peas & rice, spinach rice, and yellow rice amazing! I literally get all 6 patties and freeze them so I can take them to work for lunch! Their pricing is also reasonable, large oxtails dinner about $22, small curry shrimp dinner $16

Went back 2 weeks later because my daughter wanted oxtails since I raved about it. UGH the curry shrimp was overcooked and hurt my stomach, the cabbage and sweet plantains was dry and been sitting out all day. Had to THROW OUT the whole meal. The only thing edible was the peas and rice because it was fresh.
My daughter got the oxtails, smh ♀️ that was super duper tough, so not cooked softly. We have to throw $80 down the drain because of the cook. We won’t be going back!!!
I have changed my 5 stars to 4 stars ⭐️

I was so happy to find a GK in Raleigh as I am from Queens,NY. Everything looked good.
I ordered a large portion of jerk chicken. Flavorful rice, cabbage was great and this is someone who doesn’t like cabbage. The jerk chicken itself was good, could be a lil spicier but maybe coz the locals can’t handle it. The plantains were ok, would have been perfect if they were a tad softer and warmer. Felt like the Goya kind. Will be back tomorrow to try their oxtail.
