Do you enjoy eating Dim Sum? Golden Joy, located in Richardson, has consistently served delicious food for several years. The service is attentive and you will enjoy the friendly atmosphere. I recommend you try the Singapore noodles with a combination of meat, roasted duck, roasted pork, barbeque pork, shrimp dumplings, chive dumplings, shrimp balls, baked pineapple buns, and sesame balls.

We went for lunch service on a Friday. It was decently busy, but I only saw 2 handling all the tables. Because of that, a lot of the dishes were borderline cold or overcooked, which impacted the texture. For example, the soup dumplings barely had any soup and were steamed too long, making the wrapper pretty mushy. On the other hand, I enjoyed the baked pork bbq buns; however, they were served cold. I reheated the leftovers at home, and they tasted a lot better.

The restaurant was very big but not crowded when we arrived. I gave 5 stars based on the food and services alone. The roasted duck and roasted pork are so nice! The meat was very soft and tender. The chicken feet also very good. We ordered a bit too much thinking that “dim sum” will be small portion. The waitress noticed that and prepare take away boxes for us without asking for it. Overall, everything was good.
I just don’t like that the restaurant and restroom are a bit run down and not so clean.

Buyers beware. The owner there will randomly charge you if you use cash, the whole duck price was 32.95 plus tax which comes to $35.67, but she will just say $36 to round up at her own discretion and not give you any actual item priced receipt. And this is just for a Togo order for just a duck. Imagine what else they will randomly charge now. Their roast duck price has gone up again recently while other location near this area are still charging $29 plus tax. I will not be visiting them again in the future.

We were excited to try another Cantonese restaurant but it was not the best. First off the bbq was great, all 5 stars if it was just that! Then we ordered dim sum, this is where some were good and some weren’t so 3 stars here. Lastly service was okay, that’s expected. Keep in mind this restaurant is very dated and many plates/cups have chips on them.

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Golden Joy BBQ, a dim sum restaurant. The restaurant is located in a small plaza with ample parking.
The restaurant’s atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with carts being pushed around by older Asian ladies, which adds to the authentic Chinese dim sum experience.
The menu features a variety of dim sum dishes, ranging from $4.99 to $30.99 for a whole duck. While the dumplings were not to our taste due to the thick skin, we thoroughly enjoyed the other dim sum dishes, especially the chicken feet.
We also ordered a duck to go, which seemed smaller compared to other places, but was still delicious.
Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience at Golden Joy BBQ. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the prices were reasonable. We would likely return in the future.

Even just go for the lunch special here is major bang for the buck. Me being Chinese and ate all the Chinese restaurant all over. It’s among the best Cantonese Chinese food. Price has always been more than reasonable and is very cheap for the higher quality food

I was still on the quest to look for the elusive good dim sum place in DFW and this place is the best I’ve found so far. The restaurant was a little old, so it probably had some history. The dim sum cart ladies were friendly and showed me the kind of dim sum they had in the cart. Overall the dim sum were very solid and decent, but they were not at the same level as the dim sum restaurants in California, Vancouver or New York. I would say this place is an ok restaurant to satisfy my occasional cravings for dim sum.

Love this place!!! We travel more than an hour to eat here! Closest to the Chinese dim sum we get in Hawai’i. Photo menu of the dim sum under the glass on your table. So much to choose from. They even have the (hard to find) “spongee” rice cake! Friendly staff that recognizes that we’re from Hawai’i.

Me and my husband love this place, we will surely come back! Dim sums are very good. Specially the roasted pork and duck noodles are the best and egg tarts!
