Honestly the best fish and chips I’ve seen and had in a very very long time. Amazing batter, beautiful chips, classic mushy peas. Thanks again to the amazing staff who couldn’t have been more helpful or efficient.

Popped in here with no booking on a bank holiday Sunday.

Seated quickly and staff were very friendly – really good service from them throughout.

We had the mussels and crab thermidore. Both were lovely and great portion size. The bread that came with both was delightful – I could have eaten a full loaf of it. The wine we ordered was also nice.

Price felt reasonable for the food/service we received. Thanks very much ☺️

Probably one of the best fish n chip restaurants we’ve been to in some time!

The service was great, very friendly!
The atmosphere was welcoming and full of character!

The food, the batter was perfectly light which was the cherry on the cake for me!
My Mum had the soup which she believes was a spicy tomato, possibly pepper too.

Highly recommend if you happen to be in the area!

My husband grew up in Scarborough and we’d sometimes eat here when we are in town but we are definitely not returning again. We visited earlier with our young children, and while they had some popcorn that accidentally ended up on the floor, we were quite surprised by how the situation was handled. The service was initially slow, which we were understanding about but what truly shocked us was being handed a broom and dustpan at the end to clean up ourselves. While we always make an effort to tidy up after our children and typically leave a good tip, this experience felt highly inappropriate and unacceptable. This is certainly not a children-friendly restaurant!

I went here (twice) because they serve oysters at a reasonable price. Shame they do not have any cocktails, only beers, wines and spirits. Service was a bit slow, but other than that the food was all good

From start to finish, the service was exceptionally slow, and what was even more frustrating was the complete lack of concern from the staff. There was no sense of urgency or accountability.

I ordered a Halloumi Burger, small fish and chips, and three oysters. The burger arrived completely dry — no sauce in the bun whatsoever — making it quite unappetizing. As for the fish and chips, the tartare sauce and mushy peas were missing, and I had to specifically ask for them, which shouldn’t be the case for such a standard dish.

The only item that initially seemed promising was the apple pie, but that quickly turned into disappointment as well. It was served partially frozen in the middle. When I pointed this out, rather than the staff taking the dish back themselves, I was told to bring it over — which I found completely unacceptable. Asking a paying customer to return their own dish in a sit-down restaurant shows a serious lack of basic service etiquette.

Overall, this was a deeply disappointing experience. The food was poorly executed, and the service was inattentive and unprofessional. The staff clearly require proper training. I will not be returning and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Went here yesterday, which was my first day in Scarborough, and decided to get lobster and crab therimidore. Originally I thought maybe it was just how Scarborough seafood is but after going to a few other seafood places, I realised the lobster I had was off indeed. The lobster was quite pungent, and the accompanying chips were served lukewarm and just sad. The Crab was is ‘ok’, but the rice and salad was so incredibly plain that the whole meal is just so mid and hard to finish. I highly recommend going to chippy’s instead as at least the food there will be served hot. Or any other seafood restaurants, honestly. The only other meal thats ‘good’ was the steak pie, which tastes just like every other pies in uk and the grilled scallops.

I paid £95 which for that price you’d really be better off anywhere else. I had to go get cup noodles an hour afterwards so I can’t stress how bad this place is for money value and portion and time.

Visited for dinner on a Monday evening, and it was quiet inside with just a few tables occupied. I ordered the small haddock and my husband had the regular cod. My haddock was much tastier than the cod, which makes sense given that’s the local speciality on the Yorkshire coast. The small was plenty for me and the chips were really good. The service was a little lack lustre but the food made up for it
