There was really no one in the actual little restaurant sitting at the tables, but it was evidence that people had been there before because the cashier was cleaning up and wiping the tables down.
She was very pleasant. She brought our meals to the table and asked us if we need something. I appreciated the customer service.
My friend and I ordered two lunch specials of general tso chicken and pepper steak. The flavor of these dishes were absolutely wonderful with great flavor and not overly seasoned.

-Fresh, Clean, and Fast Service
The food here was very fresh and well prepared. The fried wings were excellent—hard and small-sized just how I like them. The shrimp lo mein was very good, and while the fried rice was basic, it was fresh and done right. The egg rolls were really good as well. The sweet and sour chicken stood out with quality meat that wasn’t chewy like at many other takeout spots around the city. The restaurant was very clean inside, including tables, chairs, and bathrooms.
Staff was extremely friendly and service was fast. No concerns at all—I’ll definitely be returning and recommending this spot.

This place is super cute and absolutely delicious. We’ve been about 3 times now and we always get sweet and sour chicken and general tsos chicken and it’s always made to order, nice and hot. The girl at the register is also super nice and helpful and never gets annoyed with us when we ask her questions or make a mistake when ordering.

Honestly disgusting. Maybe eating in person is different? I ordered online through relay – which, let me warn you, there is no customer service for if something goes wrong. Got the vegan sesame chicken and it was PURE soaked dough, no crisp whatsoever, completely inedible. Fiancé got a chicken noodle dish – do you see any chicken in here? There were about three strips. Everything got trashed. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because the vegan wonton soup was great, so if you’re craving that, go for it. I hate hate hate having to waste food or write a bad review, but it sucks when restaurants use delivery platforms that don’t try to make things right when something is cooked poorly.

This restaurant doesn’t deserve a 1 star or any, the food was horrible!! I’m a vegetarian so, I’m use to eating veggie meat. However, this was plain awful!!!The food was cold and smelled rotten.The presentation of the food looked like someone opened a can of whatever and tossed sauce on top. My dog who usually gets excited about our food was disgusted. One bite and my husband threw up and we had to toss $66 worth of food in the trash. I would never order from this place again. Disappointed!!!!!

Ordered delivery, totally disappointed. The food was totally bland–the chicken with cashews tasted mostly of the broccoli stalks which seemed to take up the bulk of the vegetable spot. The chicken was about four thin slabs of chicken–also bland. NOT going back!

We ordered takeout and it took over an hour to arrive. It was lukewarm, bland, and tasteless. The steamed dumplings fall apart the second you pick them up, the dumpling sauce has no flavor, the chicken and broccoli have no flavor, etc.
Avoid this place. I legitimately don’t believe any of the five star reviews.

Just moved back to Philly from DC and was craving some Chinese. Wanted something semi-close as was being delivered so chose Golden Empress Garden. Was impressed by quite a few things:
(1) offered combos outside of just lunch hours. The combos let you choose either spring or egg roll (spring roll was very good) AND BROWN RICE DIDN’T COST EXTRA! I got the chicken w/garlic sauce with large chicken pieces & not a lot of “filler” vegetables (just broccoli, which was fresh).
Also got the Happy Family which was very good and a generous portion.
(2) choice of free items if you spend over $10 (! – refreshing)
(3) they use Beyond for delivery ($3), meaning the restaurant’s own drivers vs. who knows w/other services with multiple orders
