Outstanding breakfast in cool old cottage. The home potatoes were super fresh and not greasy, and the homemade banana bread was savory and moist. Oh yeah, did I mention the Ventura Omelette? Stop reading reviews and go get some breakfast!

We had high hopes due its rating. The pricing was really good. Unfortunately we waited over 10 minutes for any service. They are very friendly, have give them that. They could do better with the food. Hash brown was bland and the coffee has a diner taste. As to the decor, maybe we caught them under a remodel, needs more plants and a bit more character. They also need to get rid of the plastic tables. I really don’t like giving bad reviews because evey small business deserves a chance. But please dont just serve food, create an experience. They have great potential.

Their potatoes are the bomb! We got awesome service and great recommendations from our waitress. Their homemade cinnamon rolls are so good. I really liked their decor, too. They have a big stained glass window with their logo and a bunch of plants on their porch. Those are some healthy succulents!

The golden egg is a very cute “little” breakfast spot. Down the street from another popular breakfast joint. I gave this one a 4 star only because the food was off a little somehow. The service and staff were awesome! They were very attentive. I think that they just don’t have the experience yet, but they are working very hard to get there. I enjoyed the experience.

We stopped in for breakfast on our way home and had a fantastic breakfast. The cinnamon roll was moist and sweet. I had the egg white scramble with fresh fruit. My boyfriend had the veggie scramble with the most delicious potatoes we’ve ever had! The potatoes were cooked with rosemary and were slightly crispy on the outside. I even ordered a side of them to go! We had excellent service and enjoyed a lovely view on the outside deck. We’d definitely stop in again!

Came here a few years ago during my first trip to Ventura, and this year I couldn’t stop thinking about the chilaquiles I got here on that trip. My partner & I both got the chilaquiles this time, and they did not disappoint. Delicious!
