The service was great. My order was ok. It was wrong but I don’t waste food and I didn’t have time to wait for a new order, so I pushed through it. Fries were amazing, but the soft drink glasses are small and you pay for additional refills. But the waitresses were nice and attentive. It’s a nice location to take in the local flavor of the area.

Classic Youngstown institution. Great breakfast and dinner. Awesome value for the money. Would recommend going before YSU football games or just any random day. Italian omelet is a go to. Also gotta have a icy schooner just cause.

I saw a picture of a Fish dinner from Golden Dawn in Youngstown Oh, on Facebook that looked amazing. And it WAS. We walked inside and I swear it took me back to memories from my childhood of the way real dining establishments used to look and feel. This place has it all. The fresh Cod was very large and amazing. Their house Italian Vinegrette was a mixture of pure deliciousness, I also got the fresh cut frys which were great as well and hands down the best Asparagus I have ever had. We couldn’t stop there though, the home made meatballs and marinara sauce are now my favorite!! I can’t wait to go back and continue exploring their menu. I will update with pics each time here.

Brought family(7) from out of town for a birthday dinner, reserved ahead of time so we were sat immediately. Took a while for drinks to get ordered and a while later we were given out first appetizer 10 mins after that the 2nd app. Food took over 2 hours to come out and only after I finally said something, I am not one to usually speak up, but Multiple small and large tables ate and left before us that arrived after. I only scored so high because once we did get service most of the food was pretty good and prices are reasonable. I am chalking up this experience as a one off where someone dropped the ball. Would definitely try again but not likely to make reservations for another larger family dinner gathering.

Hadn’t been to The Dawn for a long while. Stopped in today for late lunch and a couple of Schooners. The place looked great and our waitress Annie was very good and a lot of fun. Really glad we stopped. We’ll be back. Paul & Sharen

The Golden Dawn on Youngstown’s North side is a true bucket list place to visit & eat. The Dawn is a staple of Youngstown restaurants, family owned and operated since the 1960’s. My Grandfather brought me here as a child & I have continued to dine here for 50 years. The walls are adorned with the local Youngstown high school & college memorial. Your seating options are at the bar/bar stool, table or booth. The staff here were the “uniform” of white button down shirt, black tie & apron. They are always wonderfully friendly & welcoming. They always check on you as you dine. Your coffee or beverage will always be topped off and anything you need, just ask, they will get it for you with a smile. They have a proper breakfast menu, classic comfort food for sure. The lunch menu is equally awesome. Looking for a good fish dinner on Friday?? Look no farther! The bar at the Dawn is fully stocked with classic beers & liquors. You can still get a scooner of beer here!! There are a few TV’s, so you can definitely enjoy the game there. I absolutely love the Golden Dawn, I promise that you will too.

Came here for my boyfriend and I’s 7 year anniversary for the first time, and let’s say it was such a great choice. It has such affordable and delicious food, I chose the Penne vodka pasta and my boyfriend had the stuffed shells and meatballs. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food and had to take leftovers home because we were stuffed and satisfied!!
Loved our waitress Maddie, super sweet and caring, loved her cute Valentines nails and asked us consistently if we were doing okay. The atmosphere was very cozy and comfortable, loved the cop shows/Jeopardy they had on too lol. Will for sure be our go-to place, everything just felt right! Thank you for such lovely food and friendly services! ✨

The atmosphere was very classy with nicely appointed decorations throughout. The fish francaise was delicious and served quickly. Our server, Jeffrey, was very friendly and well mannered. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
