This place has fantastic service and a warm ambience but unfortunately we came here for an Xmas party (6 people) and all got food poisoning the next day. Very bittersweet experience here and we won’t be heading back soon. My assumption is that our masala (curry gravy) was not thoroughly cooked enough or that the meat was not particularly fresh.

I visited Golden Curry in Eton yesterday on my own as I was really craving a good curry. I’ve been eating curries since I was around 15 years old and I’m now 50. I’ve lived in Southall and have experienced truly authentic, flavourful curries over the years. I regularly eat at excellent places such as My Dudes, The Tavern (one of the best curry houses in my opinion), Spices & Dacha, as well as several good curry houses in Windsor — so I feel I have a fair benchmark.
Unfortunately, the curry I was served was extremely disappointing. The dish tasted like nothing more than tomato purée with chicken. There was no depth of flavour at all — no onion base, no garam masala, no spice, no richness, no balance. It lacked everything that makes a curry a curry. It was genuinely one of the worst curries I’ve ever tasted.
I barely ate any of it, and when the plate was taken away, I was most disappointed that not once did anyone ask if something was wrong with the food. As a customer, and especially as someone dining alone, it’s a natural and expected response for a restaurant to ask why a meal hasn’t been eaten. Instead, the plate was simply taken away, I was thanked, the payment was taken, and that was it. There was no interest at all in whether the food was enjoyed or not.
The service itself was polite, but there was a complete lack of care or concern about the quality of the food or the customer’s experience. It genuinely felt like they didn’t want to know.
Overall, it was a horrific experience food-wise. I left extremely disappointed and would not return. Sadly, this was one of the poorest curry experiences I’ve had in my lifetime

had the pleasure of dining at Golden Curry recently, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best curry houses I’ve visited. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The staff made us feel right at home and were more than happy to recommend dishes based on our tastes.
The food? Absolutely outstanding. Every dish was bursting with flavor, perfectly spiced, and clearly made with fresh ingredients.
I’ll definitely be returning soon. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic, delicious Indian cuisine with top-notch service!

We came here on the recommendation of a local magician, which sounds made-up but it’s true. Food and service were amazing. Even though the place was busy, the guy serving us made time to show us some card tricks between courses

I love down the road and have been coming here probably at least once a month for 5 years. The food is amazing and the staff are great. It’s also absolutely banging value. I can’t recall ever having a bad experience. Moved to review now as just had chicken tikka balti that was a 15 out of 10. 🙂

From the moment I made my booking for a group of 22, the staff were friendly, warm and welcoming.
On the evening of our meal, the restaurant was very busy, but we did not have any delays in service or food.
The staff were so organised and made the evening really lovely.
The food was delicious and they kindly modified a dish for me as do not eat dairy.
The evening was topped off by Saiful’s amazing magic (we tried to work them out) but accepted it was magic.
A really lovely restaurant, with super staff and great food.
Certainly a restaurant I’ll be making a lot of visits to.

Excellent, reliable, friendly curry house. I was there on Saturday, enjoying an excellent vegetable dansak. There were about 20 of us and the friendly team served us all within minutes of each other, and all the food was great. Thoroughly recommended.

I have been coming here on and off for 21 years, ever since I moved to Eton. During that time, Golden Curry has always been solid, but has definitely gone through phases of being excellent versus good. Over the past two years or so, I would definitely say that Golden Curry has really upped its game, and the quality has really been consistently excellent, along with the service and overall experience. They really take care of you, and the portion sizes match the quality. I would happily recommend Golden Curry without hesitation, they do what they do to a high level of professionalism and care. Try them out, they won’t disappoint.

Super attentive, great food, fantastic service and an all round amazing experience. And they just went above and beyond. Topped off by some unreal magic from the person that served us when he came to take the bill. 1st time in and will be back. With so many other places closing on Eton high street, there’s a reason they’ve bucked the trend!!
