We thought we would have time to sit down in a nice restaurant and have breakfast before the meeting but that did not happen.
At 10am before we headed home I suggested we eat at McDonalds, now mind you we don’t usually eat McDonalds and she didn’t like that idea so she goggled Golden Coral and found one close by.
I can’t remember the last time I ate at a Golden Corral mainly because we don’t have one in Hot Springs and we don’t drive to Little Rock and pass 100 other restaurants when we are hungry.
I told her it’s breakfast time and GoldenCorrals serves lunch and dinner.
She said no the website said on Friday, Saturday and Sunday they have a breakfast buffet.
I thought to myself how do you do a breakfast buffet and envisioned the many times how horrible the continental breakfast buffet at the many hotels that I have stayed at has been.
But we went anyway
To say it was horrible would be saying something nice about our experience the best form of that adjective to use is horrendous.
The glasses that we got to use for our drinks were plastic and had to be so old that they don’t remember when they bought them. They were scratched up and the rim had edges and I thought that I would cut my lip
This was my first impression and should have been a clue of what was to come.
Who knew the ideal place to have breakfast would have been McDonalds.
Food was at best lukewarm, flavorless, old and tasteless it was very bad and it was the same on both sides and maybe would have hotter if is was only one side. It was not that busy for the amount of food that had out to give a quality product
Many items were cold. The salad looked like it would have been the best choice but who wants salad for breakfast?
Golden Coral’s motto must be it ain’t old until it is sold and we don’t take pride in the quality of the food we serve.
The only thing that was decent was the orange juice in which my server didn’t offer a refill.
We paid for our food before we ate and gave the server a tip.
I don’t know if it was just this one but the next time I go to a Golden Coral they are going to have to pay me and give me a tip to stay and eat.
Right away the food wanted out of my system and I usually reserve bowel movements for my house but there was no way I was going to drive two minutes let alone two hours so I headed to the men’s room and one of the two toilets was out of order and the other one was already being blown out this is the sanitation of the paper towel situation.
Let’s just say I owe the Discount Tires employee who had to clean after I relieved myself from the misery of having breakfast at Golden Coral a major thank you and I am sorry
Maybe lunch and dinner is better but this experience has scared me for life of Golden Corral
It was terrible
Thanks for listening and reading
This is incredibly unethical and reflects poorly on the management’s integrity. It’s disheartening to think that a deserving worker was deprived of a tip meant to acknowledge her hard work. While the venue itself was adequate, this incident has left a sour taste.
I urge the management to address this issue and ensure that tips reach the staff members they are intended for. Treating employees fairly is crucial for maintaining a positive work environment and providing good service.
