I had an opportunity to travel to Shreveport, LA, to visit family. I love to travel and patronize restaurants that I’ve never been to, to see how they compare to the ones at home. For lunch, we went to Golden Corral Buffet & Grill on Youree Dr, a restaurant where we could pile our plate high with our favorite foods for an economical price. This one was just like the one at home; clean, roomy, great selection of foods, great service. Speaking of great service, we could not have had a better server than Yolanda. She was friendly, very helpful, and so attentive to our table. She had such a likable personality that my sister was very impressed with her.

Our waitress, Brandy, was great! I’d left the table to get a bit more, and when I’d returned, found a fresh glass of iced tea already waiting for me! She had several tables (with 2 to 4 people at each) but managed to keep everyone well covered. Very impressive

I really don’t know how this place is staying open. The food was cold not being kept at a good temp to keep it fresh. The steaks are more like cut up chuck roast. They cut them thick but because of the cut they are tough as boots. Anyone with tastebuds may want to beware. Keeping the food hot would really help

The food was fresh. I had the Baby Back Ribs (DELICIOUS). The waitresses were friendly but it’s HOT as hell in there. Especially the bathroom and it’s too small and I’m not a big person so you know it’s small. I think they may need to invest in another cooling unit

Had a great experience at Golden Corral with Chance. He was attentive and quickly offered me refills and took my dishes even though his section was full. Checked on me me periodically. Mushrooms on the salad bar looked sad this evening. Most of the food was fresh though.

The food on the buffet was dried out and crusty. No kind of season on any of the vegetables I selected. This was at dinner time 6pm. Meat sauce, dried out as if it had been there all day. Salad bar empty and very much in disarray. Wing bar dried up chicken. Pasta dried up, no one maintaining any of the stations. Only this looked appetizing was the dessert section. Good food. One of the few places I can get butterbeans and cornbread. Price is okay, but the atmosphere is lacking. Its always too warm in the dining areas.

I don’t go here often, but every time has been good. What surprised me the most was showing up at 3 in the afternoon still had plenty of fresh, hot food on the buffet, which can be a crapshoot depending on company. That’s probably a testament to the sheer amount of business they do. Not much else to say.

The food is good the drinks are not good at all. Taste like mold smells. The service was very slow. I ate half a plate of food before we got our drinks. I didn’t drink mine but the other people in my party had to ask for refills. Last of all it was warm like the ac was off.

For $20 per person, there should have been some food available to eat. Shame on the after church crowd who felt entitled to take so much at once. Thanks for leaving a single fried shrimp. Maybe there shouldn’t be so many people in a restaurant at the same time. The food we did manage to bring back to our table tasted good, and our waitress was top notch, but $20 a person is too much for scraps.
