We order the Hainanese Steamed Chicken and Peking pork constantly as well as the steamed oysters here.
Everything comes well seasoned and delicious, if you’re in the mood for some more authentic Chinese family styled dinners come and try it out.
I am now obsessed. It is so authentic and delicious. The BEST thing I have had so far is the crab and corn soup. The serving size is for 2 people but I could easily eat 6 people’s worth and still crave more. The crab wontons, peking duck, eggrolls, sweet & sour chicken, and rice are all good too. The service is outstanding. They never let you go without anything. The prices are great too. I wish they would open a place in my neck of the woods because I have been craving that soup!!
We both got the lunch special and chose egg drop soup. It’s officially the best I’ve had since moving to Memphis: light and flavorful, without being drowned in oil and salt like most Chinese places here. The entrees were above average as well. Cashew chicken had plenty of veggies that were cooked crisp (not at all flaccid like you get most places) and the chicken itself was moist and flavorful. My husband had the General Tso’s Chicken, which was equally delicious, but just a little less spicy than we were used to. The fried rice here is addictive, light and fluffy, with minimal onions (just the way I like it!) and my husband was even impressed with the iced tea I tasted it and I’m pretty sure it was jade, which complimented everything really well!
Best Chinese cuisine we’ve had in the Memphis area, and we will be coming back again and again!
Ordered house chicken rice, peking duck and spicy tofu in the end (I was alone)
I was the 2nd guest at the time, service was pretty quick, but no friendliness at all from the male server.
Didn’t mind since I came for the food.
The chicken rice was fine,.portion was big and generous.
Spicy tofu looked appealing, portionwise was alright.
The most disappointing one was Peking duck, meat was chewy and not really flavorful. But it was served very very quick, everything were ready within 20 minutes.
Not really worth my 3 hours + drive. But not a bad place if you like big portions with rational price.
There are much better places I’ve eaten. I was just hoping to find a place closer to where I reside. But at this point I won’t complain about my drive to Houston Levee.
When we arrived, I was not impressed. When you walk in, it has the dirty rag smell and old worn out decor. We were met by an older Chinese lady that barely spoke English. She showed us to our table, took our drink order and handed us a menu. The menu was pretty much the same as every other Chinese restaurant in America. We ordered our drinks and ordered an appetizer, the pan fried dumplings. They took a note while to cook and they were very fresh and delicious. They were some of the best I’ve ever had. I ordered the cashew chicken. The portions are very liberal, the food is hot, fresh and delicious. Most Chinese places cook all the food at once and reheat it as it’s ordered. This food was made to order and fresh. The vegetables were incredibly fresh and delicious. This is hands down the best Chinese place in Memphis. A diamond in the rough. It doesn’t standout at all, and they could definitely use some marketing help, but the food was on point. A definite place to try.
