The App was easy to navigate, communication was great, delivery was timely and food was warm. However, it was the most tasteless Chinese I’ve ever had. The shrimp was just fried, typical freezer item. Since when does fried rice have NO veggie A few carrots, peas and onions? There were a few eggs but it was flavorless and lacked anything above white rice. Yuck! Wasted $35 for an entree with “fried rice” and ho-hum shrimp. Absolutely the most bland meal, very disappointed. And, still hungry. Peanut butter and jelly it is, I guess.

Growing up in the north with my family we always ordered takeout that was always so good, however when we moved down here most of the Chinese food was just subpar. Until my husband took me here!! Tastes just like childhood to me! I got the moo shu with pork and it was so fragrant that you can taste everything they put in there. I honestly will recommend this place to anyone who likes Chinese food and grew up on it!!

Today I got to eat at this place with my family and surprisingly I enjoyed the food very much! Very fresh, very authentic, also they didn’t wait to bring it out like some do, which is nice cause sometimes food gets cold like that which can be very upsetting. Atmosphere is a tad bit awkward since it’s so quiet and no music going. Some people may like it more than I. Overall tho the main thing I enjoy is the lunch special from 11-3 which I got general Tso’s chicken for under 9$ with rice and egg roll and that was some of the best I had in a long time(p.1). My father in law got mixed vegetables with a combo for 10$ which is a mix of all the meats and shrimp. My wife got sesame chicken for 9$ with white rice and egg rolls as well(p.2)! We got fried wontons(p.3), crab ragoons, and sesame balls(p4) it was definitely delicious and a wonderful experience and I definitely recommend people to try it out once and then come again another time like I will!

This is the best Chinese food in New Braunfels and surrounding area. A gem hidden off exit 187 on IH35. Menu has many dishes and the food is made fresh and large portions. Staff is extremely friendly. Today’s visit we had the best Egg Foo Young ever. This is definitely worth a visit. Don’t know what you’re missing.

I can’t believe how good their food is. It’s consistently amazing. This is our favorite Chinese food place in New Braunfels and Canyon Lake. It’s amazing. The meat is so soft and buttery, the baby corn is insane- I have never been to a place that serves baby corn that doesn’t have a earthy almost bittery taste and this place knows how to cook it! It’s sweet but not sugary sweet, just cooked correctly. The waiter is always on top of things and we have never had anything bad from here. If you’re thinking of trying it out, do it! Pictured is mixed vegetables with chicken and I added cashews and have steamed rice. The other is low mein with combo meats.

So glad to find this place. First meal here. Beef and vegetables so good. Beef wasn’t chewy at all and veggies were crisp. My Fav were the egg rolls. Hot and sour soup not so much. Attentive service. We will be back to try more selections on the menu.

The food, customer service and art of this restaurant are phenomenal. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but the inside is breathtaking. The prices are perfect for the amount of food you get. Will be on our rotation!

Golden City in New Braunfels is a great spot for tasty, budget-friendly Asian food. We had the Kung Pao Chicken with lo mein and Spicy Garlic Chicken with fried rice—both were delicious and came in large portions. The service was friendly and quick. Highly recommend for a satisfying meal that won’t break the bank.

I had been wanting to try this place for awhile. The menu looked fantastic. We walk in before the Sunday Lunch rush comes in. The young kid takes our order. We both opt for Lunch speacial. I get the Hunan Pork with fried rice and we ordered Garlic Chicken with fried rice. The plates came out quickly. The food was good. The veggies were crispy and the chicken and pork were tender. That is where it stops. The sauce on both plates tasted very “sweet” and had a similar flavor to it. We never say the young kid again. I had to flag him down to bring us our check. Service was “lackluster” after the kid brought our food to us. The owner was also taking orders and bringing food out. It looked like it was just the owner and the young kid working. They needed an extra person to help out. I was not sure what was going on in the room next to the dining room. There was a loud obnoxious couple who was making a town of racket and it was hard to have a conversation.
Overall, the Lunch special was not worth the price. If you go to other Chinese places, you do get soup in addition to your rice and entree. You did get a large portion, which was nice; but, it could have had a better flavor, as both dishes almost tasted identical. The Eggroll that came with the meal was also “soggy” and very “chewy”. I was expect a fresh, crispy one. We both agree we came, we tried it, but will not be back.
