This place is absolutely terrible .
How it has a 4 star rating is beyond me .
The hot and spicy chicken looked like bland chicken in watered down ketchup with some onions in it .
The honey chicken tasted off putting and was like chewing cardboard . Nothing here was even close to good except for the Egg Rolls
The fried rice had ZERO VEGETABLES in it . The only thing decent was the egg rolls and that’s probably because they were pre made in a package .
Then the lo-mein had a weird like alchohol mixed with a weird taste so I put all this stuff exactly where it belongs … in the trash .
This place is food poisoning waiting to happen. Don’t do it people drive another 10-15 miles and save yourself the money

The worst fried rice I’ve ever tried. Lo Mein edible. Atmosphere still in COVID pandemic setting with worn out furniture. Sockets even covered with duct tape, facility strictly take out. Best thing was food packaging.

Small Chinese restaurant. Interior is a bit dated but they easily make up for it in their service and quality food. Food is made fresh when you order it and the workers are all relatively friendly people. Highly recommended!

We use to enjoy the food here but today it was awful, something tasted seriously off! 3 bites and it went straight into the trash! My husband came inside and said the same thing about his including the egg rolls were fried hard and tasted burnt! Very disappointed, such a waste of $35!

I’ve been a loyal customer of Golden China Restaurant for years, but unfortunately, my recent experiences haven’t lived up to the high standards they once set. Since the new family took over, there’s been a noticeable difference in both the quality and taste of the food. Dishes that used to be flavorful and fresh now seem lacking in the same attention to detail that made the restaurant a local favorite.
One of the most significant changes I’ve noticed is in the freshness of the ingredients. The food doesn’t taste as vibrant or as carefully prepared as it did before. It seems like some shortcuts may be taken, which has had an unfortunate impact on both the flavor and overall dining experience.
While I understand that transitions can be challenging, especially when a family-run business changes hands, it’s disappointing to see a drop in quality at a place that I’ve loved for so long. I genuinely wish the new owners the best of luck, but I hope they can bring back the standards that made Golden China a standout spot in the past. I’ll give them some time and hope things improve, but for now, it just isn’t the same.

First time there last night. It was pretty good. I had the chicken and broccoli combo with fried rice and the egg roll. The chicken and broccoli had good flavor. Egg roll was ok. I also had the chicken rice soup. That was okay. There was only one table to sit at. It looked like they are still worried about COVID.

Stopped here for a late lunch early dinner on the way to FL. No seating inside but most likely due to covid, witch was fine. The food and the service was very good. Clean inside too. I got the chicken with peppers and onions and the meat was excellent and the veggies were fresh. They definitely pay attention to quality here. Saving this for future travels.

Flavor and choices have always been good & consistent. Prices better than average. Occasionally our group orders for business lunch. Not sure if you can still dine inside as it appears they now only accommodate takeout. The street appeal is not so great. The interior where guest tables once were now looks to be in disarray and more like storage and clutter.

Duct tape on seats, no napkins with order, no visible food inspection grade. Save your money and go to buffet place in Selma nc. At least you get napkins……..
