It was 11:30 a.m Dec 30th 2024
when we arrive and pull out on the drive thru but apparently no one is answering so decided to pick up the food inside. I saw 3 employees inside seating and there was another 2 smoking outside total of 5 employees. Went straight to the counter and no one would like to assist until 1 of the employee came to help but she said to give her another minute to get the counter code for the 1 of the employee outside. Ordered a family meal with the chicken fingers. The chicken fingers was freaking small and there was barely chicken inside it’s more flour than chicken. The chicken is also dry and chewy. The bread and fries was cold the gravy was clumpy. The employees uniform was dirthy and so was the inside of the restaurant there where fly’s all over the place. The only good food which was given to us was the fried Okra bcoz they still have to cook it and waited like 10 minutes for it to get cooked. The good part is we got the fried okra fresh. If you are traveling to hwy 287 on childress I would highly recommend to avoid buying to this store. They are ruining the reputation of golden chick. Worse Golden chick ever never again on this store

I went to get some food today, my friend & I ordered our food. We waited 30 min to get fresh chicken for her, both my chicken strips & Okra was cold, I politely told the manager that my chicken & Okra was cold, instead of offering to refund me my money, she argued & stated to me, that they were fresh, I said feel them to the manager, and walked off to avoid any conflict. If this is how you run your buisness, you ought to be ashamed, if we already was waiting on fresh chicken, I think the right thing to do, was also drop some new frozen Okra and fresh chicken strips also for me. I will not be going back. The only reason you received a one star, was because of your employees were very nice in engaging conversations, while we patiently waited.

First time eating here and I am pleased! It’s conveniently located where the two main intersections meet. Parking was good. We didn’t have to go into the town and so this was a good choice because we didn’t want to drive too far from the highway. The restaurant was fully staffed. They greeted us with a hello and friendly smiles. We placed a dine in order. Our food arrived quickly with a good acceptable temperature. The restaurant’s interior is warm and welcoming. This is help for those who travel long distances to and from across the country. As we sat and ate I looked out the window at all the vehicles passing by. I seen license plates from all over the country. Semi-trucks hauling everything from water to live stock. Looking out at all the hustle and bustle passing by made me appreciate this restaurant’s location. It reminded me of just how precious life is and how quickly it passes by. We travel the country and world to enjoy one life we have. If you don’t like being around a lot of commotion; you might want to choose another restaurant. Because there is a lot of movement at the intersection where this restaurant sit. After the rain I seen a rainbow and so I added it for your enjoyment . You’re welcome.

Love me some golden chick. The Lotta zing sauce is amazing and the spicy Lotta zing seasoning is excellent on these chicken strips.
I have stopped at this location twice and both times could not go inside to order. When your in an oversized vehicle you cannot exactly go through the drive through. This last time we walked up during the day and was surprised the inside was closed. A lady came up and slapped a “drive through only sign” on the door and wouldn’t acknowledge us standing there at the door. We waited in the drive through standing there and the other girl did help us. When I asked her why the inside is closed she said because they are short staffed. I saw a cook leaning against the wall literally doing nothing the whole time we were there and another lady filling the orders. Three employees. Maybe I’m wrong but that was enough for us to run a taco bell back in my days. Enough to run a burger joint back in my days. Not sure if it’s just laziness or what but someone needs to take note of this. And the fact that we tapped on the door for the lady to help us and she just walked off like screw you was not coop.
Other issue is they didn’t get our order right so we had to go back to get it corrected. Also the first time we went they were out of Lotta zing sauce and salads. Also didn’t have sweet tea.
Ill try staying away from this location in particular as I have never had bad experiences at other golden chick locations.

12/22/25 Didn’t even get to try the food, as they decided to service their fryers in the middle of the day. Like, it wasn’t even 2pm yet and its a major travel day before a major holiday. Who was the management or shift lead who made the call to be down for more than 30 mins without food available to float? WTH. Who chooses to do that in the middle of a shift? Didn’t get tenders and my kiddos were severely disappointed, as was I. Seems like a good excuse to do nothing.

Google shows closing time as 10 PM. I arrived at 8:25 PM, but the lobby was already closed and only drive-through was open. The store hours should be updated correctly to avoid confusion.Total waste my time

I ordered a roasted breast meal – the kid on speaker sounded annoyed I was there was dismissive and rude – I got 10 min down the road realized I was given a thigh I turned around came inside and told the I’m assuming the manager I got the wrong food – she rolled her eyes and said ya we dont have any roasted chicken breast …. Why was this not told to me when I ordered. ?!then she said it will be 45 minutes … she did not apologize she was angry I wanted what I paid for!? I said I’d wait which made her angrier It’s a shame cuz I don’t have a golden chick in my area while in the lobby nobody offered me a drink or apologized and I heard the F word at least a dozen times while the crew chatted where all could hear .. who is in charge here?

Worst fast food experience I have ever experienced in my life. Words can’t even describe the experience we had here. Manger was awful, a bunch of kids with no leadership or skills running the front freaking out. I feel bad for the people working with this manger. It was an older chick with a bandanna and glasses out back smoking when we pulled up. She was yelling and cussing at these poor kids. She acted like she gave us a refund but honestly I don’t think she did. All I know is we needed to leave after sitting there for 33 mins. My child was with me which was even more embarrassing to have her see a place like this. She wanted to lock the doors but couldn’t because we were inside waiting for our food. Which we honestly didn’t want nor would eat after seeing what was going on here. This place should be shut down or have a new ownership. It was that bad. Needless to say don’t come here, don’t trust the food, just all around no. Awful awful awful
