I ordered the fried rice, egg rolls and an order of the mini steamed pork buns. I got pork dumpling soup instead of the pork buns. I went back in and told them of their mistake as the person who took my order put it in the system wrong. Add another 40 minutes to my wait because, while handmade and I’ve had them in Hong Kong, the pork buns are frozen and then steamed. While all this is going on, they had a minor working after a specific hour and was obviously young enough so she shouldn’t have been working there at all. She was also eating on a counter that was being used to store orders that were ready. I saw them take an order that hadn’t been picked up yet and microwave it to make sure it was still hot.
There was a drunk sitting in there who didn’t order from them and had a box from papa John’s a few doors down. He was passed out snoring, and when I informed them that he had thrown up on the floor and was passed out, they said “oh we don’t know who he is” and finally called the police about him about 30 minutes later as I was FINALLY leaving. I finally got to eat my order at home, oh and no apology about it but I did get an extra reheated pork bun,
And they had also told me when I was ordering that, it’s understandable, they were not doing the normal daily specials because it was New Year’s Eve. I did see near the end of my wait and I’ve ordered there enough to know that they had packed up a few of their daily specials to put in bags of orders.
I know it’s cold, we live in New England after all, but people handling food in a restaurant should not be wearing jackets from outside while handling food for people. It’s unsanitary and who knows what could be transferred from a dirty jacket sleeve to someone’s food.
The one big bright spot is the egg rolls. I’ve ordered and eaten them from many different restaurants in the neighborhood, city and in other states a f they are usually difficult to eat without a professional set of choppers to chew them with. But a person with no teeth can eat these egg rolls. They are deceptively cooked and look like they are going to need a knife and fork to eat them, yet the are soft and easy to chew but still have that almost snap when you bit them. The only downside to them is they seem a bit over seasoned with pepper.
All in all, the food is really good but stay far away on any night that is even slightly busy
I got two thingies of chicken wings for my family; Chicken does not taste good, not well cooked. (I don’t eat meat, but my son didn’t eat it 4 others didn’t like it). Pork fried rice was OK, & that’s a silent ok. (My dad is the only one that somewhat enjoyed it)
I got the shrimp fried rice. It was not cooked and tasted old if that makes sense.
