Arrived here at lunchtime and the restaurant was nearly empty. Ordered a spicy Sichuan style shrimp over rice lunch special. Less than 10 minutes later, the food arrived steaming hot. Everything was cooked just right. I usually shy away from ordering seafood, especially shrimp because unless it is really fresh, the taste suffers and spoils the entire meal. In this case, the shrimp was very fresh as well as the generous mixture of vegetables included, namely onion and green pepper. The egg drop soup was a little unique with chunks of celery but it was hot and tasted good. Staff was friendly as well.

I thought for a bit, how to rate Golden Bowl. My decision is as much emotional as gastronomic. I ordered the egg roll appetizer and the Szechwan beef noodle soup, with hot tea to drink. My soup arrived before my egg rolls… The egg rolls were tasty and somewhere approaching the temperature of the surface of the sun. The noodle soup is a dish that I frequently eat at home in Atlanta. I told the server that I was doing an east coast / west coast comparison. I really cannot compare the two as they are nothing alike. The soup was flavorful and full of fresh, still crisp vegetables. The veggies were primarily zucchini, carrot, celery, and onion. The soup was labeled as spicy, but it was very mild compared to what I am accustomed to having.

No one likes to wait for 45 min for their order to be ready. What is really disappointing is waiting for 45 minutes to pay $75 for cold Chinese food. There is no reason for it to take an hour and 10min to cook 5 dishes (1 being soup) and then give your customer their food after it sits there, wasting their time. I could have been enjoying a hot meal insteaf of what is now the equivalence of leftovers. Well, with leftovers, at least they’re warm…

I never post negative reviews, but if I could give zero stars here, I would. We ordered two Wor Won Ton soups and my husband went to pick them up. They didn’t sit in a hot car at all, he picked up the order, drove home in the air conditioned car, and brought them immediately inside. The containers/lids were so cheap that the styrofoam is warped, and the lids have literally melted into the soup. When we called to explain the situation and request a refund as we obviously can’t eat this, it was refused. That’s the reason for my review. Accidents/problems happen, but for this to occur and you won’t refund us? THAT is a problem.

This place was overall amazing. I was a little skeptical at first with the appearance of the place, but I think its just a traditional restaurant and not Americanized. Which is what I wanted. The staff was so accommodating and portions were huge. Well worth the money and would eat here again. Food tasted sooo good! All the negative reviews sound like children boohooing, highly recommend this place.
