First and last time getting food here.
The General Tso’s Chicken
Visually, the General Tso’s looks promising with a deep, glossy glaze and vibrant broccoli. However, the flavor profile was a major letdown. The spice—which should be a balance of sweet, savory, and heat—instead tasted bitter and burnt. When the dried chilies or the sugar in the sauce are scorched in the wok, it ruins the entire dish, leaving a lingering acrid taste that no amount of rice can fix.
The Almond Boneless Chicken (ABC)
The ABC was a textural struggle. The chicken itself was notably greasy, suggesting it was fried at too low a temperature, allowing the breading to soak up oil rather than becoming crisp.
The Gravy: Usually the star of this dish, the gravy here was a failure. Instead of a rich, savory brown or yellow sauce, it was essentially thickened, watered-down chicken broth. While it contained bean sprouts, it lacked the depth of flavor (usually from soy, ginger, or garlic) required to pull the dish together.
The Sides: Fried & White Rice
The fried rice (seen in the first photo) has a nice dark color, which usually implies a good hit of soy sauce and “wok hei.” Unfortunately, looks were deceiving as it was completely bland and tasteless. It served more as a filler than a side dish. The white rice was standard, but couldn’t save the subpar main courses.
Final Verdict
While the portions were generous, the execution was lacking across the board. Between the burnt spice in the General Tso’s and the oily, flavorless Almond Chicken, this is a meal that relied entirely on appearance.

Started out at 5 am in Rochester, then Roseville and all points in between, headed home at 5pm

The lady owner nailed it
Three patties of pork egg foo young with mushrooms, white onions and scallions plus a pint of fried rice and extra gravy.
Perfect comfort food meal on a winters day.
She was kind enough to remind me that I was ordering from 21 and Garfield right next to the 7-Eleven, thanked her.
Arrived in 15 minutes like she asked
Hot
Ready on the counter.
Plus the husband/ chef was out front, I congratulated them both on their new schedule being closed on Mondays
Generous portions, cooked perfectly, flavorful & enough food for leftovers.
Truly this place is a family run mom & pop putting out wonderful food.

Almond boneless chicken was perfectly breaded and cooked! Sesame chicken was sweet and savory, has a nice thick sauce.
The egg rolls were filled very well.
All of the food is fresh.
I did a walk in order and I was greeted immediately. I placed my order and I think I was out of the building in 10/15 mins.

This was the best and freshest carry out Chinese food I’ve ever had! Crispy, fresh vegetables in soup and main entrees, no goopy, mushy anything. Vibrant spices and balanced flavors. We just moved to the area and are thrilled to have Golden Bowl as our go-to for Chinese food!!

June 2024 – ordered our dinner from here Saturday night. I ordered the cashew chicken combo and the sweet and sour chicken combo. A lot of rice and chicken for both meals. Both meals were very good. Sweet and sour came with it’s own container of sauce. They came with an egg roll but we did not like them. The inside was not that good. Overall, it took about 25 minutes to make the food and it was very good. I would recommend this place if you want some good food.

Low quality food with low quality ingredients. We asked them for chow mein after they messed up our order. My husband went all the way back to pick up the second order and even tipped them again. This is what they gave us the second time after messing up. It literally looks like they opened a package of raw ramen noodles, fried in oil for 30 seconds and put it in the to go box.
