Great value for $8.50, if you tell them no rice, you can select 5 items, which works out for us because we’re a low carb family.

We stopped here after an afternoon on the ferry and traveling. The food was all incredible and the all day lunch specials meant we got plenty of food to share and enjoy. The tempura and the glazed salmon were our favorites!

Golden Bowl harkens to the Chinatown before gentrification. It’s a very humble, no-frills spot where food is ladled by old ladies, hardly any English is spoken, and there are no tourists. $8.50 (tax included) gets you 4 dishes and rice. There are many choices, including a lot of vegetarian options. Canned soda is $1. Cash only.

Honestly has food review opinion (Golden Bowl ) food was 2/10 . Don’t recommend everyday. At least visit has tourist.
-Rice on Eaten somewhat uncooked rice . Raw, Moldy or dark speck. Unhealthy as you think risk.
-Veggies on top that is cook too long ; which takeaway nutrients from vegetables itself .
– Meat is kinda bad as well fatty and oily. If it tastes good is with sauce cover meat. Otherwise is bland and tough chew. *Recommend chew well.
– Was not appetite to eat
Cost $8.50 . You get 4 side + Rice+ Soup . If you don’t want rice; you take noodle instead.

A real hidden gem tucked away on a side street. Months ago I walked by Golden Bowl and saw the hot foods in front of the window and told myself I’d come back to try. Yesterday I was in the area and decided it was time. They don’t have a menu, just a selection of the owners home cooking from that day. For $7 you get a plate of rice and selection of 4 dishes. All are fantastic.
If you’re an adventurous eater and support mom and pop shops, this is the spot. And if you’ve ever been to a Chinese restaurant and saw a dish that you’d be curious to take a bite of, but can’t justify paying $17 for a full service – this is the spot to try as much as your heart desires for a couple dollars.

Stumbled on this place by window shopping and craving for some take out so decided to pickup a delicious looking dinner box with pork, chicken and some beef. Just point to what you want and have your cash ready and you are good to go. Didn’t pickup any veggies as it wouldn’t be a value at the $7 price point. With 4 meat items, some decent tasting rice and a nice hot cup of seaweed soup to wash down the saltiness, you will have a fulfilling meal. Just watch the bones as there seemed to be alot.

I enjoy the food here. It operates 7am to 7pm everyday. Order 4 dishes and a rice for 8.50USD. Good value. Ate there 2 out of the 3 days I was there. A small seating area inside. Will definitely visit again.

Good variety. The value here is very good. For the bigger fried pieces, they give 2-3 pieces like the whiting fish, salmon fried bones, etc. For the shrimps, I have seen them give 4-5 pieces. Rice is plentiful for what they give (like two servings). I was able to split mine into two meals. The soup is a seaweed soup that is common in these cai pan places. There are 4ish small tables against the wall for eating.
Overall, I would go again for the value/variety. Places in flushing with this concept are around $9-11 for 3 items & soup so I would say this is really good value. This place is close to the Flushing CT vans (IYKYK).
