Visited the GBT this past week with other members of my family from Washington DC, here for funeral, and god bless Janet, made us all feel so welcome, with her friendly conversation , excellent food service, and beverages. Just had THE BEST food from The Golden Bear Tavern!! Their wings are soooooo good! Meaty and crispy skin! We got an order of onion rings as well as jalapeno poppers (( 1 order cream cheese and 1 order cheddar cheese )) and they were also THE BEST I have had !! The Bear didn’t disappoint at all!! Def recommend!! All this food under $45!! fed the 2 of us early dinner and plenty left for a snack during the Bills game!

Came in for a drink after our hotel was a nightmare and didn’t have the bar open. Was absolutely delighted to have one of the best bartenders I’ve ever had behind a bar. I live about 2 hours from the location, and was only in town for the weekend, but I sure wish I could come back sooner! Had a great conversation with the bar keep, and the drinks are VERY reasonably priced. My hotel was charging $6 for a Twisted Tea when they actually did have the bar open on Saturday. Sat down here on Sunday night about 10pm and got them for $3.50 instead. 3 mins down the road from my hotel; can’t beat it. Will absolutely be back in some time! Thanks for the cold drinks and the good time 🙂 Can’t speak to the food quality, as we showed up too late for food, and that wasn’t really our intention in showing up that night anyways lol

Server was nice for the whole 10 seconds we were in there. I love trying small hometown food. Was here to meet with a few friends so I could try their wings which I heard were pretty good. There’s about 10 signs on the front door and hallway into the establishment that say “no under 18” or something of the like. Okay that’s fine!
We got ID’d immediately sitting down and I was there with a guest who is over 21 and I’m 20. The waitress takes our IDs and comes back and says we can’t be served. I tell her I would just like to try the wings and she says no. I ask politely “I’m a little confused as the sign says no under 18 but I’m 20?” She replies “it’s a little confusing, I get it” I say thanks and leave to give my business elsewhere.
For a place that’s highly rated by my friends and family, I won’t be back.
Please, for future note, put a sign that says no under 21 on the door instead of 18.
I don’t drink and I just wanted to try the wings.
Note that the other friends with me are regulars. So it’s not like we got kicked out bc we were ‘rowdy’ kids. The friends were all over 30 y/o.

Outstanding! We are good food snobs! We want friendly atmosphere! We want a server with personality plus! We found it! The Mecca of the ALL what we want when we dine out! Ashley – WHAT A GAL! Such great care of us- thought she was the owner! Excellent to all her customers! atmosphere – INVITING and welcoming! And the food- wings with BBQ were incredibly delicious and so meaty! Generous fries! We were just passing through heading East BUT are planning our trip back to make sure we have lunch there! It’s worth the rerouting!
