This was a fun day hanging out in the line, people watching, and enjoying fantastic BBQ! Everything was truly good and that is speaking from experience! We got each meat, side, and the over the top banana pudding! Try it, you will love it!

Worth the wait. We arrived at 8:45 AM and sat in chairs before the doors opened. There was some shade, which was a relief since the heat today is supposed to be well into triple digits. Doors opened at 11 AM right on schedule, and we were able to get in to order just before noon. Fatty and lean brisket were both tender and flavorful, but the pork ribs were surprisingly my favorite and melt-in-your-mouth fork-tender. Pork belly was delicious, and both types of sausage really tasty. Sides I highly recommend for those who like spicy foods are the pinto beans and the cheesy grits. The sides that were also great for non-spicy lovers are potato salad and coleslaw (and I’m not even a huge coleslaw fan, but it is not overly saucy and more of a vinegar-based dressing). Do not forget to order your banana pudding!! The crumble reminds me of a streusel topping, and perfectly sweet with the vanilla and banana flavors of the pudding. Service was outstanding! As first-timers with a larger party, they really make you feel welcome and orient you to how the line operates. Efficient system, and great food! Tables inside fit up to 6 comfortably (our party size). Thank you, Goldee’s!!!

Bbq that definitely lived up to the hype! Loved the Brisket, Ribs, and the turkey. Probably the best Ribs ever. Fatty brisket was better than the lean. Would skip the sausage next time. Wasn’t for us. Sides were killer and was by far the best banana pudding I’ve had.

I visited Goldee’s on August 19 and I wanted to take some time to write my review. Ever since I started reading about BBQ a couple of years ago, Goldee’s has been always on my list of places to visit. It was Friday, I arrived there around 8:30 am and there was already a line of around 25 persons. I certainly recommend you to arrive early because the line gets super long and you do not want to be under the sun on a summer day. It was 11:00 am and the dream began, the moment I arrived to the counter they hit me with a piece of brisket… That’s the moment I realized why they are the number 1 in Texas. The piece of meat they gave me was so tender, juicy, well seasoned and delicious. I had brisket, pork ribs, pork belly and turkey. For sides I went with coleslaw and potato salad and dessert I had the banana pudding. The brisket… Oh my god, delicious, very well seasoned, sometimes BBQ places tend to go heavy on the black pepper, but this one was just perfect. The ribs, amazing flavour… I noticed hints of cumin on their rub which gives them a very interesting profile of flavour. The turkey was very soft and juicy and with the sauce the give you it tastes amazing. Maybe the only thing I would not get next time is the pork belly, it was not bad but I think pork belly is not my thing. The sides were amazing, very refreshing especially if you are eating heavy meats. They really help to balance all the flavors from the meat. The banana pudding was really good, only thing I would recommend the owner is to go a little bit more heavy with the bananas on the pudding.

My pilgrimage to Goldee’s Barbecue wasn’t just a casual dining experience, it was a gastronomic epiphany that sent my senses into euphoria. Each bite of their ethereal brisket sent waves of delectable delight coursing through me, causing a crescendo of joy that was simply out of this world.

We’ve tried most of Texas Monthly’s Top 10 BBQ List… and we understand why Goldee’s is NUMBER 1!!! One word: EXCELLENT…! Beef brisket, pork belly, smoked turkey, pork ribs… are PERFECT! We didn’t like their sausages… the seasoning was off. We felt they were overdone, and the casings were chewy (maybe bc they were overdone). Only tried coleslaw (vinegar based, not mayo) and cheesy jalapeño grits… both are fantastic! Freshly baked bread and their pickled onions and pickles are also super!! I love their bbq sauce… it has a slight kick! I arrived at their parking lot at 11:07am on a Friday. There was a LONG line and it took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to order!!! Not a fan of waiting in line (outside!), BUT… I’d happily do it again at Goldee’s! Or better yet, I’d just arrive 30-45 minutes before the restaurant opens!! Can’t wait to go back there for the meats and try more sides and their famous bread pudding!! Love this place, and anyone who loves BBQ will come back for more… for sure!!!!

Line was not very long, but I waited roughly an hour to just get inside. Didn’t say anything to anyone about not having any more sliced brisket, told me at time of order they were out of sliced brisket. All they had left was chopped brisket. Overall, the food was decent. Definitely had a mustard taste linger/aftertaste.

Waited about 2 hours until I was able to order. Got to say that it was worth it. Ordered the brisket, pork belly, pork ribs, Kennedale soup and banana pudding. All of it was delicious with the brisket not overly smoked like other bbq joints which I liked and pork ribs being a dry rub has an amazing flavor. Pork belly is expected to be fatty and is really good also as a leftover paired with rice and the house sauce.

On a BBQ tour of Texas and this is our first stop – I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately the food wasn’t the best BBQ I’ve had! The potato salad is really good as is the banana pudding – the food is good just not the best – the staff on the other hand are brilliant, the lady on the door especially. We were there on an Easter Sunday and the queue was not that bad at all.

Be prepared to wait in line for a good 1.5-2hrs on average! That being said… it is well worth it. Best BBQ I’ve had in Texas hands down. Had the Brisket and Pork Belly (Pork Ribs and Sausages were out by the time I made it in to order.)
