A small hole-in-the-wall kind of a place with amazing burgers. The burgers are a good value and was surprised when I saw my Hot Nerd burger. The burger was cooked perfectly and was juicy and flavorful. And the fries were good. What I ordered was a special of the Hot Nero, fries, and a drink all for $15. I hope to be able to stop here again the next time I am passing through.

Our first time visiting CT! We wanted to try a casual place with lots of flavor, well GoldBurgers was a great choice! First, let me tell you about the mushroom Steakhaus burger. The melted cheese, steak sauce, and onion was great and I chose a veggie patty which was one of the best veggie patties i have had. My husband really enjoyed his Chicago dog and goldburger. We ate the onion rings in the truck. So don’t judge us… , you gotta eat them while they are hot and they were hot, crispy and tasty! Matt was so wonderful he even gave us homemade pickles for stopping in all the way from Dallas Texas! Thanks for making our stop at GoldBurgers a memorable one!

The food is always fantastic. We love their specials. Tonight’s was shaved prime rib, peppers, melts cheese, and onion. It was incredible. It’s one of the few places where our kids actually eat as much as we do. The onion rings are god tier and are the best onion rings we have ever had. Matt is incredible and always makes us feel like part of the family when we come in.

Excellent burger with a juicy patty, soft, sesame seed covered bun and thick, crispy bacon. Above average fries. Service was excellent. The place could use a little TLC, but they make one of the best burgers in the area.

(Last visited March 9, 2025.) GoldBurgers is everything you want a straightforward burger place to be! Here’s why GoldBurgers is one of my favorite burger places in existence!
Atmosphere/Appearance: Located right on Main Street in “downtown” Newington is this gem worthy of the name! There’s parking spots along the front of the place, some more further down in front of other places and of course the big parking lot behind the spot. Once inside it’s pretty straightforward. There are some tables right up against the window then there’s the counter where you order. After that it’s all tables and stuff. It felt like a nice, family-friendly atmosphere.
Service: There isn’t table service so you just order at the counter and the food gets brought out to you, no big deal. Easy-peasy. It fits with the esthetic of the restaurant and works well.
Food: I’ve had quite a few things from GoldBurgers and they’re ALL delicious. Above the counter is the vast menu with all of the options from juicy burgers, chicken burgers, falafels, hot dogs, sweet potato fries and the like. However, at eye-level there’s a chalk board where the specials are! That’s what you want! Those specials constantly rotate and they’re all based off of movies! My latest acquisition was an incredibly spicy chicken cheesesteak based off the movie Hoosiers! So freaking good, filling and just hit the spot! I’ve had double-burgers here that had potato chips on it, chicken burgers and this place just does not miss!
Value: It feels like an old-school burger joint so you won’t pay more than $13.00 for a burger, but they don’t come with a side. They’re all separate, but you can make a combo out of almost anything. Super affordable food.
In conclusion, I feel guilty for not coming here more often! Lol. That’s it. I wish I did, but I will make an effort to come on in regularly!

Hubby considers himself a burger connoisseur so when he read this place had the best burgers in CT, we had to try it. He ordered the standard, single with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheddar cheese, bacon and mayonnaise. He said the burger was good but not great and not worth another 30 minute trip to visit again. (Plus they forgot the mayo and he had to go up and request it again). I had the vegan burger which held together nicely and tasted decent. The onion rings were good. The restaurant is a small place with a few indoor and a few outdoor tables, you go up to the counter to order.
