Don’t waste your time and money. Took several minutes for waitress to appear. Ordered a regular adult sized 4-way. What I got was what appeared to be a child’s size. When asked the waitress said that is a regular size. I’ll stick with the other guys where you get more for your money and don’t leave still hungry.

I grabbed some quick lunch through their drive-through last Tuesday and ment to post this earlier.
It was probably close to 1pm on a Tuesday and I had to visit a shop on Mall Road. After I was done I wanted to grab something before I went back to work and the Gold Star was right there. I wanted to get a burger and a milkshake from there to try it out again as it had been quite sometime from my last Gold Star burger.
Pulling up to the speaker to have my order taken, I was quickly greeted by a friendly employee ready to take my order. He was kind and polite and engaging as he took my order. Most places it seems like you are a bother to the employees for showing up tk order some food. Not with him. After that pleasant interaction and with my order placed I pulled up to the window to pay and wait for my food.
The employee who took my order, greeted me at the window and reminded me of the total and then asked how my day was, in an engaging way, not just some dull common saying or corporate policy. He really seemed to be friendly and engaging. He also told me it would be just a moment on the food and the burger and the fries are made fresh to order.
As we completed the transaction for my meal I heard another employee ask the one that I was speaking with if he had heard him correctly and that I had ordered a milkshake. After hearing that he was correct in hearing that, he told the first employee that he would go ahead and get that for him to help out. Wow coworkers helping coworkers!?!?!? Crazy right?
Once the second employee was done making my milkshake he made sure to hand it to me and he and I had a polite exchange where I really felt he was happy to have a job, where he worked was a nice place and he was focused on providing a good customer experience.
While I was waiting for the burger and the fries to be done, I could see and hear inside to the front counter where a man was walking up to pay for his meal. The waitress greeted him quickly and asked how his food was. He told her it was delicious and then went out of his way to make sure to comment how the service he had received was exceptional and made his day.
Once my food was done the employee who was cooking it made sure to box it up and hand deliver it to me directly, as if to ensure the best possible freshness of his work. He thanked me for my patience and asked if there was anything else. I found his thanking me for my patience comical as he had to have gotten right to cooking the food as it was ordered and boxed it up and got it to me quickly. There was no need, it was quick service. So after talking with him and yet another great interaction I drove off and started eating my food.
Everything was fresh and well put together, the fries were crispy and well seasoned. The burger was cooked well and put together well. And the milkshake was delicious.
All of this honestly put a smile on my face and gave me a sense that there is hope for humanity still. Good people do exist and good working environments can be found.
So if you like Gold Star and or you want to have a good customer experience and your faith in people restored, visit the Gold Star on Mall Road in Florence, Kentucky.

Their servers were sort of lazy. It said open at 10am, however, nobody was inside and I was waiting outside until almost 11am. The four-way onion chili tasted great, but the meat sauce temperature was a little low and the cheese did not melt.

I’m sorry but this food is just plain nasty, the chili dog reminded me of a Vienna sausage, and the chili had an overpowering taste of ground cumin…the fries were okay, overall it’s very overpriced for the horrible taste and quality. First and last time trying this place.

The service was slow to acknowledge us when we sat down. After waiting several minutes, the waitress finally came over to get our order, but somehow neither her nor the manager seemed to understand how their own coupons work. Most of the employees weren’t correctly wearing their masks, with some clearly not even trying as their mask was tucked under their chin. Unfortunately, the ones not trying at all were the guy preparing the food (as seen in the photo) and the manager. I won’t be returning.
