Loved the cheese bread, and the combo pizza. The taste was incredible.
I will definitely make this a lunch stop for my Harley’s Owners Group riding group.
The staff was awesome as well as the outside dining by the Sutter creek.
Gold Dust Pizza in Sutter Creek isn’t just my favorite pizza spot — it’s my favorite pizza in the world. Every visit is a perfect mix of old-town charm and unbeatable food. The setting captures the spirit of Sutter Creek, tucked among historic buildings, cozy patios, and friendly faces that make you feel right at home.
The pizza? Absolutely top-tier. The crust is golden and perfectly crisped, the sauce is rich and tangy, and the toppings are piled generously — fresh mushrooms, savory sausage, pepperoni, olives, and just the right amount of cheese stretch with every bite. Their “Gold Digger” and “Gold Dust Combo” pizzas are legendary, and you can taste the quality in every slice.
Pair that with a frosty pint of local beer and an order of wings (which come out hot, saucy, and addictive), and you’ve got the ultimate comfort meal. Whether dining indoors with its classic bar feel or outside under the shaded patio surrounded by flowers, the atmosphere is pure Gold Rush-era charm with a family-friendly twist.
Gold Dust Pizza truly lives up to its name — rich in taste and a local treasure. If you’re anywhere near Sutter Creek (or even a couple of hours away), it’s worth the drive.
Must-try items: Giant combo pizza, buffalo wings, and a cold draft beer.
Vibe: Warm, lively, and welcoming — perfect for families, friends, or a casual afternoon with local craft brews.
And honestly haven’t tasted this caliber of pizza since wandering the backstreets of Syracuse, Sicily. The crust, the flavors, the soul; everything feels like it came straight out of Siracusa. Absolute gem.”
Now, let’s talk about the pizza—because that’s where Gold Dust really shines. The pizza we had was absolutely amazing. Generously piled with fresh, flavorful toppings, every bite felt thoughtfully made. The crust? Somehow crispy, even under all those layers of gooey cheese and savory ingredients. It’s clear that this place doesn’t cut corners when it comes to their pie game.
On the flip side, the drink selection left a bit to be desired—no ciders or seltzers, which was a bummer for those of us not into beer or soda. And when it comes to service, it’s pretty no-nonsense. You walk up, place your order, they give you a number, and that’s kind of it. Not rude by any means, but don’t expect much in the way of small talk or over-the-top friendliness. In their defense, both times I’ve visited, they’ve been absolutely slammed, so I can’t blame the staff for being in heads-down, get-it-done mode.
That said, the vibe, the patio seating, and most importantly, the top-tier pizza more than make up for the minimal interaction. It’s the kind of place you go when you’re craving something delicious and want to soak in a laid-back, unpretentious atmosphere. Gold Dust Pizza may not charm you with smiles, but they’ll win you over with every single bite.
Sauce: generous amount of sauce, spices, thick and rich.
Toppings: fresh, plentiful, high quality cheese that melts in your mouth.
Service: friendly, helpful and attentive servers.
Atmosphere: outdoor patio, on the river with heaters, charming historic dining experience.
It’s a great date spot, since you can walk around historic Sutter Creek to prolong the date. IG: SACRAMENTOHONEY
