The heart of Central City. Respect the locals and ask about the people in the photos on the walls. Vintage bar, circa 1890. Ask about the dollar bills on the ceiling. Old mining tradition. Chalk board on the wall where you can buy forward a drink for a friend. Cash only.

Our first visit in central city and we came across this gem – wow we were impressed by how many dollar bills got stocked in the roof , how stiff the drinks were and how pleasant our bar lady was (sorry we forgot your name ) but thank you so much for the great hospitality your home mixed secret drink and the great Bloody Mary. We did enjoy every moment- historical fact on the side they are the second oldest still operation pub in entire Colorado!!! Go there and have a great time

This bar shocked me. It was incredibly small (like 5 stools to sit on), drinks were almost hilariously limited, and there were only two other people there on a weekend. After reading the reviews I expected so much more.

Now, it’s a historical little place. For only that, it gets 4 stars. But they have such a limited selection and can’t make any variety of drinks we ultimately had to leave. Not to mention, you can only have one drink every 30 minutes (company policy).

I’m glad to say I went there but definitely won’t be back.

Came here on a snowy day for brunch. 1 of 2 tables there. Waitress was obviously attentive and friendly to perfection based on this. Flabbergasted by our bill at the end of $25 with 2 full sized breakfasts with *3* bloody Mary’s included! Basic, delicious country breakfast for $6 a plate. Located inside and upstairs from the Gold Coin casino entrance. Everyone was very friendly. Highly suggest if you just need some morning foods after a night of gambling.

Cool old fashioned bar and casino. Free drinks while you play.

Jeff and Kristal are two of the coolest cats slinging beverages behind the saloon doors that greet you as you enter. The bar is a minor portion of the establishment but easily the most interesting given the decor. Ask either of the aforementioned individuals about the dollar bills tacked to the ceiling while sipping bloody Maria’s or having a Blue Moon.

Cool place with an old time atmosphere. I didn’t do much here, just had a drink and left, but the bartender was someone who had lived in the city for a while and was interesting to talk to. There is a casino and games, with food and full bar.

When you been on the trail, with some dust on your brim. Dismount that trusty steed or Subaru and saddle up to the Bar for a cocktail before supper or a hard night of gambling. This place looks like a Movie Set except it’s real as the spurs on your feet. Let’s ride!

My 1st visit was in 1960. Then again in 1968. Then I moved to Denver and was a regular. Loved the ambiance of the old west! Make it a stop when you are in the area. You won’t be sorry!
