Traditional Ethiopian cuisine eaten with enjira bread including vegetarian options & a hookah bar.

Everything was so delicious! I had the meat and veg combo with Yebeg Alicha, Doro Wet, Shiro Wet, & Tikle Gomen. We started with the lentil and beef sambusas. Friends got the traditional coffee which takes about 20 mins to prepare. They said it was amazing. Looking forward to my next visit!

Gojo Ethiopian Restaurant offers a great dining experience with flavorful food and an authentic atmosphere. The interior features traditional Ethiopian decorations that create a cozy, culturally rich setting. The host was very kind and welcoming, though she forgot to bring silverware until the main dish arrived.
The appetizer was delicious, but the portion size felt a bit small for the price. The main dish, beef tibs, was well-prepared, tasty, and satisfying. One downside was the indoor temperature—it was quite cold compared to the weather outside, and many guests kept their jackets on.
Overall, the food quality was excellent, and despite a few minor issues, it’s definitely worth trying for authentic Ethiopian cuisine.

I’ll admit I was a little hesitant when I first walked into the restaurant because it was quiet, but I am so glad we stayed. This place is a true hidden gem in Nashville! The quality and taste of the food were absolutely outstanding.
A huge bonus for us was that they offer gluten-free injera, which was a fantastic and delicious surprise. The service was welcoming, and the flavors were authentic and bold. Don’t let the quiet atmosphere fool you; the food speaks for itself. We will definitely be back!

My friends and I went to Gojo for lunch on a weekday. I’ve been a few times before and their food was amazing just as it always is. I went with five other friends and we shared two meat and veg combos and one other meat dish which was a great amount of food for the six of us. I will also add that so often at first it seems like it might not be enough food, but the Injera that they serve with everything which is the bread that you use to eat, is so yummy and filling that you will feel so happy with the meal. We ordered the combos with Kik Alicha (Yellow Split Peas), Shiro Wet (Ground Chickpeas), Potato & Beets, Mushroom Wet, Key Wet (Beef), Yebeg Alicha (Lamb), Doro Wet (Chicken), and Minchet Abish Dega (Beef). Honestly, I could not always tell which dish was which, but they were all so yummy that it really doesn’t matter (also you can totally tell which is which based on the great description from the menu haha). Also don’t be afraid to get everything to share and just dig in together! Definitely pay attention to how much you care about germs with your friends and family, but eating this way is definitely the way to go and so much more fun! Can’t wait to go back again in the future! Parking can be a little tricky. I have never had a problem with parking since they do have their own parking lot, but depending on how busy they are it can get full so just be on the lookout for that!

Super over priced for potion size. Building is pretty rough with old carpet inside. Service was non existent. I was one of three people there and it took almost 10 minutes for water. Waitress was on her phone. Appetizers looked like they were bought at Trader Joe’s and were minuscule for 8 dollars. Entree was fine but very brown. Nothing fresh. No garnish like herbs lime or even green onion to brighten up. They also skimped a drumstick out of the meal. Overall terrible and never going back. So many better places to eat at way better price points.

This place is one of my favorites in Nashville. Some people complain about the decor, but if they like those new local restaurants with trendy designer looks, they are in the wrong place. It’s cozy and old-time-Nashville. The service isn’t super fast like McDonald’s, and I have no complaint about it. This is a family-owned restaurant that serves real food.

The food was great but the customer service was just okay .
There is just one person attending all the tables which can get messy if it gets busy .
Even with just a few guests it took for ever to get a glass of water for us
Also , she didnt let us sit at a table next to the window saying it was reserved but clearly no one came till we left
The food was a solid though. We got the vegetable and meat combo along with the traditional Ethiopian coffee.
Really nice.
If only the service can be improved, i will visit this place again.

I ventured out to this restraunt with some coworkers, while staying downtown for a conference. Its away from the neon light, cowboy boots, and bachelorette parties. I had not had this type of food before, but trusted my co-workers, and it blew my mind. We had meat ans vegetarian options, all good. Highly recomended.

This is a very cute little restaurant serving authentic Ethiopian cuisine in very cozy surroundings. It tasted like a home cooked meal and the flavors were quite diverse. They give you the option to combine your orders so you can eat family style. The injera was fresh and fluffy. We got the lamb and chicken which were both very flavorful. The star of the show for me were the mushrooms and collard greens.

Little hole in the wall restaurant with great food and friendly service. We tried the avocado salad, meat and vegetable combo, followed by the traditional coffee service. Everything was beautifully spiced. Meats were tender. Vegetables were delicious. The coffee service was a nice way to finish the meal.
