We did a group dinner party with family and friends for my sister’s graduation and they were easily able to accomodate the entire group of 25-30 people. We had ordered plenty of snacks and dinner items (both veg and non-veg) and they all tasted good. This restaurant is little on the outskirts of Providence town but would totally recommend if you wish to have Indian food or sit-down with bigger groups.

Godavari has largely spread buffet food in whole Rodhe island. They have all kinds of Non veg and Vegetarian options. Specially if any Indians wants to enjoy breakfast like Idly , dosa, poori is also available. It’s the best place to enjoy Indian food.
I would recommend them fully satisfied.

A decent buffet place in a non indian neighborhood which is rare to find.
A lot of vegetarian options , only a few non vegetarian options.
The place is a casual sit down place and the options are well made.

Recommended if you like buffet / all you can eat places. The place can improve their decor and vibe though.

I had heard about Godavari years ago when they first opened, but had never stopped in. While I’d gone to nearly every other Indian restaurant in the area, (Rasoi, India, Kabob and Curry, Bollywood Grill, The Curry House…) I just never stopped in until this year.

I figured that I’d try their buffet, so I lowered my expectations – I figured it would be good, but not great, and I was fine with that idea.

When I walked in, I found an atmosphere that felt dated and worn – it felt like it hadn’t been refreshed since it was Panda Garden back in the early 2000s. I was pointed in the direction of the seats and told that the buffet would begin soon.

I took a seat and admired the dated decor. I felt like a few touches could liven the place up and make it more welcoming. As it is, it feels neglected and slowly falling apart.

Then, the buffet opened.

My qualms about the decor faded when I saw the vast variety of food and how well prepared it all seemed.

One table held what were basically appetizers and sides – Samosas and Chaat were present and looked great. The next table over had various curries, rice, breads. and biryanis, while the final table had more biryanis and some desserts, as well as “milk shake” and chai.

All of it was good.

The samosas were flavorful and the Chaat was great. All the different little sides – vegetables and things like that – were tasty, though the names didn’t stick with me.

The curries were all good – spicy and full of robust flavour, they put their best foot forward across the entire buffet. The wide assortment of biryanis was amazing, and the desserts, especially the gulab jamun, were a welcome finish.

I took 3 trips up to the buffet and wished I could have made more, but my stomach can only hold so much.

My highest highlights were the chili chicken, samosas, chicken biryani, and of course the aforementioned gulab jamun, which didn’t taste too much like roses like it sometimes can.

The “milk shake” was a sweet, milky drink that was great for easing some of the spice.

This was honestly some of the best Indian food I have ever had. While served in humble surroundings, the food really speaks much louder than the decor.

I will certainly return. I feel like Godavari has become my preferred choice for Indian food in the area. I am absolutely stunned by how good they are.

This is one of the best place we all had the South Indian food in USA . We travelled to Boston for a trip and we were very impressed by the food, flavor and atmosphere there and the quality of food was amazing. Purely loved Gongura Mutton biryani in Godavari style❤️. The ambiance is amazing too. We even took pictures of there bill and menu card purely aesthetic❤️. For me it’s for sure a must must visit place to have good South Indian food.

Hit or miss. First time try was good so we went again and had a bad experience. The dosa, Gobi Manchuria was good. Bajji was so oily that I had to squeeze out oil. Kadai paneer was ok. We had to mix in salt and pepper to bring it to taste. Not an experience I want to have when paying good price. One another customer was so mad with the food that they were going to call the department of health for serving frozen expired food!

Awesome buffet! The food was filled with flavor, along with being hot and fresh.
Plenty of variety so you have to at least try a little bit of everything.
Unbelievable service too, the waitress was amazing and very passionate about the food.
Only around $20!!!

Went again over a year later and still 10/10! Amazing quality, variety and so damn tasty!

we are new to this place and tried ordering from doordash…we ordered rayaseema kodi vepudu…i dont usually keep reviews but i called these guys to inform that this dish is the worst thing i have tasted ever i mean it is full of bread coated and has no salt or any taste and we ordered spicy but it has some smell also mainly the texture i dint understand why it will be coated with full powder look at the texture in the pic. and it was charged 17.50$ man why we have to run like this.
we tried to call to order no one lift and also we called them to ask if it was misplaced but no one responded. I hope the owner reads this and correct. I have business too so inspite of being corrected placing this review. Also the thagubothu chicken man why u have to name it like that when u dont meet the taste, both are same taste which has no taste.

I ordered this in Uber for $16.00
The audacity to name this DELHI SPECIAL CHOLE BATHURE .

Did you ever try chole bathure ?

It’s frustrating how one can make and sell stuff on the name of Chole bathure.
Why is it so thick, it’s not pita bread, it’s bathure, please tell your chef the difference .
If a local person tries this, he will think this is how it tastes. He will never get to know the original taste
Didn’t expect this from Godavari Restaurant
Don’t think ppl will accept whatever you make, I’m never gonna recommend this restaurant to anyone!

I really enjoy the Sunday buffet here! They always have a great variety, with around 30-35 items to choose from. The food is generally very good, though some dishes can be a little dry. My main note is the price—at $27 per person, it’s quite expensive. However, if you’re looking for a wide selection of quality food, it’s a fantastic spot.
