Reviews
The mutton was terrible, tough and flavorless. The Baby Corn 65 was undercooked inside, while the Shrimp Appetizer was decent and Stuffed Mirchi was actually the only dish that was properly cooked and delicious.
Service was poor and unwelcoming, especially from one lady who seemed disinterested, even only 2 tables were occupied including us in entire restuarant. Overall, the restaurant felt unprofessional, and the experience was extremely disappointing. I cannot recommend this place, especially if you are hoping for authentic flavors or a welcoming atmosphere
We visited Godavari today for their special Christmas buffet, and it truly felt like a festive celebration of South Indian flavors—abundant, authentic, and satisfying.
The buffet spread was impressive and well-curated. The Andhra Veg Pulao stood out with fragrant rice and balanced spices, while the flavored rice varieties added depth and variety. The Punugulu were crisp on the outside, soft inside, and perfect as a classic South Indian snack. For dessert lovers, the Gulab Jamun was rich, warm, and indulgent—an ideal way to end the meal.
Non-vegetarian options were equally strong. The KFC-style chicken fry delivered a crunchy, well-seasoned bite, and the Tandoori Chicken was smoky, juicy, and cooked just right, showcasing authentic tandoor flavors. Everything was replenished promptly, which kept the buffet fresh despite the holiday crowd.
Service was attentive and efficient, and the atmosphere felt lively yet comfortable—perfect for families and groups celebrating Christmas together. The staff managed the festive rush smoothly, which added to the overall positive experience.
⭐ Overall Rating: 5 / 5
If you’re in New Jersey and looking for a festive Indian buffet experience, Godavari’s Christmas buffet is absolutely worth it—great variety, authentic taste, and excellent value for a special day.
I have been to godavari branches in Connecticut and Princeton and had a great experience. But the Edison branch was different. The food was not tasty. All the dishes we ordered has less salt in it. When I received idly, the chutney has a big polythene cover in it. Probably it’s not made in the restaurant and bought somewhere. When I ordered second dish, The chutney was further diluted. Wouldn’t go again to this branch
I have ordered cut mirchi, mamsam roast biryani and bejawada chicken noodles.
Cut mirchi, never had that good in years and just hit the spot. Biryani , I would give 4/5. And chicken noodles are just chefs kiss ❤️❤️❤️.
Would love to visit more again.
