We came here last night to celebrate my 30th birthday and it truly was a very special meal. The design and atmosphere of the restaurant is breathtaking. The service was outstanding – Giuliano and the rest of the Godai team gave us without a doubt the best client experience we could have hoped for to celebrate a very special birthday. Giuliano explained every dish from the taster menu with a warm smile and made our experience one we’ll always look back on and cherish. The food was out of this world – the only dish we didn’t love was the first one with the grouper but everything else was to die for.

The other reviews weren’t kidding about the portion sizes and I think that is the main downfall of this restaurant. We started with the Eel nigiri which was the size of a child’s finger. I couldn’t really see the eel as the foie was the main profile and it was over in an instant. Fleeting… for that money you can have dumplings with so much more flavour. The scallops maki rolls were very good and no no criticism on those. The butifarra truffled gyoza were nothing special to be honest. I ordered the black cod miso and I couldn’t believe it was just around 100g of fish. This dish is defined as a main course and was finished in three bites. The flavour was nice but overly sweet for me. I had way better in Nobu’s which is better value for money. My partner had the wagyu burger which literally came by itself. It did taste nice though. We didn’t even want to stay for dessert based on our experience of what was served. The staff were very nice, but it was a little confusing to have 4 different servers (including sommelier), not knowing who’s your server. They seem to have different functions so we had to figure out who’s who. I get what this place is trying to achieve and the concept is nice. The execution I feel doesn’t hold in terms of value/outouts compared to the other places on the island. Not a stand out and wouldn’t recommend to friends or family to be honest.

While visiting Menorca and eager to try this renowned restaurant, considered one of the best on the island, we left with a disappointing experience and a deep sense of frustration.

We ordered meat and tuna neck, and the dishes arrived completely bare, with no sides whatsoever. At this price point, we expected something more elaborate. You order tuna neck, you get tuna neck — that’s it. You order meat, you get slices of meat — simple concept. The taste was there, but the quantity, or at least what one would expect from a main course, was completely missing. Around €60 for two dishes that left us still hungry.

The height of disappointment came with the dessert, which deserves anything but that name. A more appropriate label would be amuse-bouche or canapé. The price, however, was very real: €9 each for two stacks of two crackers, precariously balanced with a chocolate ganache that was weak in both intensity and indulgence, topped with half a mint leaf and two sad little slices of strawberry. A disgrace, considering the supposed prestige of the establishment. We went from laughing at first to complete exasperation.

Don’t expect the staff to make any gesture to restore even a hint of the restaurant’s reputation. What was meant to be a romantic evening for us as a couple turned into the clear feeling of being treated like walking wallets. If you want to actually eat your fill, go for the €150 per person tasting menu. Judging by the portion sizes, though, there’s no guarantee you’ll leave satisfied.
Honestly, our worst memory of the island.

(Translated by Google) Look… I’ll make it easy for you, this place is THE best restaurant in Menorca. The price is high, but I SWEAR it’s worth it. 10/10 quality, it’s the best sushi. I promise you that if this restaurant doesn’t have a Michelin star, it’s only because it’s a Japanese restaurant and not Menorcan. Honestly, no, really. If you’re in Menorca, come here

Oh my God! Amazing meal.

We had the tasting menu, which was just an explosion of the taste buds! So a beautiful variation on menorcan and Japanese food.

The cocktails are amazing compliment the meal perfectly.

Atmosphere is just lovely, you can even catch a glimpse of the sunset.

Staff and service are lovely, friendly and helpful.

A very fancy meal of Minorcan/Japanese – we enjoyed the dishes and the outside eating experience with views of the bay and the hotel.
The seaweed tempura was a surprising favourite.

A real disappointment !

The main courses (as written), very expensive, arrived without any side dishes (no vegetables or rice or whatever, just one little piece of tuna, and for the other one just few pieces of pork) in portions so small they looked more like appetizers.

The chocolate dessert perfectly illustrated this problem. It was described as a chocolate dessert with strawberry, but it was so tiny it was almost laughable— looked like a very small cracker with just two thin slices of strawberry (not even 1 strawberry) and half a mint leaf. What a shame ! And no taste !

The restaurant tries to present itself as a gourmet establishment, but the flavors simply don’t live up to the image, and the minuscule portions for such an exorbitant price are completely ridiculous !
