We were visiting friends, and got to try out Gobbler’s Roost for the first time. It was fantastic! The food, service and atmosphere were all wonderful. I wish we had somewhere like this where I live in Illinois! We had so much food we took it home with us for left overs, and it was just as great the next day! I highly recommend Gobbler’s Roost!

We decided to give Gobblers Roost a try from a couple of friends recommending. We went during Valentines week.
It is a trip to the middle of nowhere outside of Nevada, MO but worth the trip.
We were greeted as soon as we walked in and the smells were amazing.
You got a 5 course meal that was outstanding.
We started with spinach artichoke dip in a roll, a delicious salad with their house made sweet onion vinegrette, baked onion soup ( so good), and our main course of Fillet for me and Pork chop for hubby with fresh baked bread and a lovely dessert and champagne to finish.
The service was great, the food was beyond amazing with outstanding portion size on the meats, cooked perfectly.
The atmosphere was charming and the view nice.
This is definitely a special occasion place and highly recommend giving it a try.

The food is amazing. You will not leave hungry. We’ve eaten a lot of steak all over the country and this place by far has the best.

Went out for dinner for my husband’s birthday I really enjoyed the five-course meal. This is not a place you can just walk into it is a reservation only. They do not advertise it is word of mouth only. I also found out that they were featured on the Food Network show I can see why. It is well worth the money.

This was a great little fine. This restaurant is in the middle of nowhere, but is an excellent restaurant. It was $80 per person for a five horse meal, we had an appetizer of peaches ricotta cheese, broccoli, cheddar, soup, salad, 16 to 18 ounce, incredible beef fillets, and peanut butter cake. The steak would be about three portions for one person. It was so big. They also had incredible bread for the table. The large portions it was excellently prepared.

WOW!!!
Beyond impressive, beyond my expectations, and beyond anything I’ve ever experienced!
I’ve been to at least 75 steakhouses across the country, I’ve ran a few upscale restaurants and nightclubs and I’ve made many other happy with my food and cooking…. and it’s very difficult to impress me!
And the Gobbler’s Roost impressed me beyond words! There’s a feeling of being more than just a customer, an atmosphere that is warm and welcoming, the staff comes across as of they are your friend or family, the chef comes out and engages on conversations with every table,
The Only way to describe this place is that it’s more of an experience having to notch amazing food and knowing that everyone that works there has and does put their heart into what they are doing!

I’m new to the area, but had seen other reviews and had to stop in (after making a reservation, of course). I wanted to take my parents to a place that they might not have ever gone to in their own and only hoped that it would be a good experience. They had one of the best experiences of their lives tonight and they weren’t shy about expressing how much they loved that place!

So to those that had the concept that got us to the present Gobbler’s roost, thank you! Thank you for loving what you’re presenting to those of us that get the opportunity to experience it!!

And those steaks and the pork chops were HUGE!!!
Lemon desert to complete our visit…
And my parents must’ve told me a dozen times that they’ll be back as well!!

Remarkable experience amid very rustic surroundings. My wife and I dined here without preconceived expectations. WOW! From the opening course until the dessert it was top 5 dining experience of all time, which includes very nice places internationally. While the opening courses were memorable, the steak was top 3…ever. Realizing numbers 1 and 2 were Kobe beef which is an unfair comparison. The char and attention to a perfect medium rare on a large piece of beef is incredible. Having read the other reviews, I am struck by certain people ordering seafood (wrong location) and those discrediting the char on the steak aren’t credible. Another person downgrading based on feeling “rushed “ should choose a French restaurant. Our service was impeccable and on point. Positive shout out to the owners for being so accommodating.

We finally went to Gobbler’s Roost on Easter Sunday… it was so good! It took a little over an hour to get there, but it was well worth it (and we got to see some COWS!). Everything, from the salad table to the triple-layer carrot cake with cream cheese icing, was superb. I had the pecan-dusted fried chicken – yummy! – and hubby had the prime beef filet. He loved his as well. The cook/owner said she switches up the menu every month… prix fixe style somewhat: you choose from a few different entrees/types of meat. That day there was the beef filet or T-bone steak, the fried chicken, pork chops, or the seafood platter to choose from. Delicious – we’ll be back!

A Small place by reservation only, that gives you an intimate and upscale experience at a reasonable cost. My husband and I fell in love with this quaint cabin style restaurant after our very first visit more than 2 years ago. We ultimately have become regular monthly customers and have a standing monthly reservation. The owners and main chefs, personally check on every table and guarantee that your steak is cooked to perfection. With a full 5 course meal featuring our favorite main course, 2 very large PREMIUM-melt in your mouth-cut it with a fork-tender-fillet on each plate, No one leaves hungry and few leave without some left to take home. Of course, I wouldn’t dare leave this review without mentioning their signature red onion vinaigrette salad dressing, as I look forward to this part of the meal following each unique appetizer and seasonal soup. We usually end the meal splitting a desert and arguing about who has to drive home. It’s THAT good.
