Tried both the pork and chicken katsu curry and both were solid, crispy cutlets, rich, thick Japanese-style curry, and very filling. Comfort food, no overthinking required. Portions are generous and it hits the spot when you need something warm and satisfying after shopping. Not fancy, but dependable and tasty.

I ordered the pork katsu and did a $3.00 upgrade for an extra large portion. It was the same size as a regular. I questioned the girl to clarify my order and all she told me was L and XL are served on the same plate. I hadn’t noticed that my order was sitting on the counter while i was standing there waiting. The waitress never called out my order until I went up to ask, even though she was standing by idly. I got the extra large to share with my family. The pork was dry, and the curry tasted instant. Never again. (Pictured is a regular size, from the people sitting next to us and the XL size we ordered.)

My favorite curry place in Japan is now down the street from me. First day was a little bit rough, but that’s to be expected with first days. That said, it tasted wonderful. I came back on 7/1 and service took ~10 minutes during lunch. Very good!

Some people say it’s spicy. I don’t think it’s spicy at all. I LOVE the thick curry sauce. Too many curry restaurants have watery curry. Not here. The curry is PERFECT.

I will be back again and again and again

Tried this place in Hawaii and was thrilled to find out it opened in socal! Their curry is kanazawa style so it’s darker & thicker (more gravy-like). It’s a different flavor from the typical Japanese curry that’s definitely worth trying. I recommend getting one of the larger plates to share. Super filling!

We ordered chicken katsu curry and some other kinds. Chicken katsu and sauce was OK but the rice was undercooked and hard in the middle we couldn’t eat it. You need to practice cooking rice much better than this. For Japanese people how well the rice is cooked is very important. If you continue serving rice like that, people won’t come back to your place. Wash and soak the rice before you cook and use proper amount of water and steam long enough. Check your rice to make sure it’s well done before you serve. I hope you’ll improve your cooking method.

It’s a small restaurant inside the large grocery store on the right side past the entrance. Got the standard combo which was 20$, and the portion looks a bit smaller compared to the photo. Food was good and curry was tasty, but out didn’t taste unique in anyways besides having a darker color. The katsu, shrimp and egg was all great, though I’m not a fan of the sausage. All a bit overpriced but its still tasty, so if probably just prefer to try it in Japan. I did enjoy the small outdoor food court here.

The dark curry was SO good with the chicken katsu. And the friendly guy behind the counter even let us try the curry first to see if we liked it before ordering. Definitely coming back.

I really like their curry. It’s thick, katsu is crispy and well flavored. Although I wish they would serve curry separately because they just pour it on rice but it’s just my preference. I almost didn’t wait, my order was ready in 1-2 minutes. Curry itself has sweet flavor and I would say it’s mildly spicy

Been to one of these down in NYC a few times and while its not the greatest curry its usually a clutch spot that hits the appetite. This spot however completely turned me off. I got a homerun and the rice was undercooked; it was worse than an undercooked risotto. The katsu was decent at least as well as the sides, but overall I’d never come back.

It was cool. Curry was a little sweeter than I am used to, but it was definitely Japanese curry! Hard to find nowadays. It is a food court so it does get crowded.
