I appreciated the comfortable seating and organized layout of this place. It wasn’t too noisy, making it easy to enjoy conversations. The menu includes a variety of options for different preferences. The food tasted fresh, and the cooking style was consistent. Service was friendly and efficient. Overall, a solid dining experience.

Funky old tavern with delicious food at very good prices. I absolutely loved this place. It was very historical and made me feel like the old west. The atmosphere was nothing fancy and made me feel relaxed. My hamburger was served on a paper plate. I will definitely go back!

Stopped in for the first time this summer later on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn’t terribly busy when we first got there. Took a while for anyone to come take a drink order. They were out of the first two beers we tried ordering from the tap list. Ordered one appetizer and a sandwich.

Almost an hour later the place had filled up with a bunch of kids and families that had apparently just finished sports events. No one had come back for refills or to bring our food. A guy finally came over, was very harried, and said he got called in to help. We asked if we could just pay for our drinks and leave. He promised our food would be right out.

Food was fine, nothing special, no silverware. Would not go back again.

What a cool piece of history! Stopping at some of the oldest bars in America as I visit all 50 states and this one didn’t disappoint. Todd cooks a great burger and is a dedicated owner to this piece of history. Would highly recommend putting this on your list of stops in Nebraska!

Excellent food menu, excellent beer selection. Had to stop at the state’s oldest tavern. They were short-handed with employees so when the bartender needed to run an errand in town, he closed up the bar. I am glad we returned an hour later. They also sell t-shirts!

I just called Glur’s Tavern and the person who answered the call could not have been more hostile or rude. I was impressed with the food before and even the service, but until the man who treated me so condescendingly and hung up on me for asking a simple question about their operation times is fired, I will maintain this review. He is the one who answered the phone at 11:30 AM on Monday, 9/26/25, and I called again to ask for his name for my review, to which he replied, “Cool, well good luck with your little survey” and hung up on me again. Clearly, he is too much of a coward to have given me his name.

I absolutely loved this place. It’s a very very local bar with a large pub menu. The food is ok and gets better the more you drink. The staff is friendly and it’s definitely a place to check out. It’s like the first bar in Nebraska or something like that.

An historic stop in Columbus. Food is good greasy spoon, you can feel the history and the Nebraska Husker love oozing from the rafters. (Literally). Service for food is minimal, you get it when it comes out, not necessarily together, I mean hey –this is a Tavern…not a restaurant so, don’t be surprised. There is a good selection of mainstream and native brews.
