Looking for a Bavarian Beer Hall? Gleuk’s is the place. We were looking for an interesting place before attending the pre-Broadway release of Purple Rain and Gleuk’s was withing walking distance of the State Theater.
Let’s start with beer! They have a great selection including their namesake. I chose the rotating Paulaner and this month it is a doppelbock. Tasty!!!
For an appetizer, we chose the pretzel sticks … ummmm, more like pretzel logs! They were very good, but it was a big portion. If that is possible to have too big a portion.
For dinner, I chose the walleye sandwich. It was deep fried in a beer batter to a perfect crispiness. The tartar sauce was yummy and I really enjoyed the sandwich. Again, the portion was big!
My partner chose the Berliner … an open face roast beef with mushrooms and Swiss. She said it was delicious.
I look forward to going back to Gleuk’s with friends. I really want to experience the beer tower and there are some things on the menu that I want to try.

Stopped in for dinner and drinks with a friend. The employees were super friendly and helpful. The place has a really cool history and there is lots to see and read on the walls. The menu had lots of options and the food was good. The bar had lots of options. It’s a must see place while in town.

What a fantastic bar and restaurant. The food was amazing, everything (and we tried a lot) was delicious. The staff was helpful and attentive. The place gets a little loud, but that’s part of the atmosphere. You can’t go wrong here.

The crispy chicken salad was pretty good. Wish there was more chicken. Great ranch dressing. I’ll probably try a new dish next time.

Awesome food, reasonable (for the cities I guess?) prices, and a cool and charming atmosphere. It was crowded, but 6pm before a 7pm Wolves game didn’t help. But, I was in a table near a walkway, and there wasn’t room for me and the person next to me to move any further away from the walkway, yet every time someone passed they bumped my shoulder. But hey! A liter of beer! The currywurst was phenomenal.

The staff were insanely friendly. Insanely helpful. Food was top notch. My friend didn’t care for his drink and they even offered to take it off the tab. Would never expect that. If I was local I’d go more often.

This place is such a remarkable gem! I came for the currywurst (which was amazing) but stayed for the vibes, live band, and rustic old school interior. Shoutout to their amazing fries (I’ve never had better) and good service. I’ll be back again!

This place was awesome. Jeremy is one of the best and hardest working bartenders I have seen. I was soooooo impressed by his attention to detail and crafted cocktails. This guy never stopped moving. This was the first bar we stopped in near Target Field and we were very impressed. Excellent atmosphere and we will be back. Thanks Jeremy for an awesome first impression of Minneapolis.

My father was in the army. We moved often. I lived in Germany as a child, and therefore Gluek’s always felt familiar like family – where food is always a safe savory bet. Over the years, the staff provided a welcoming and festive atmosphere whenever we would visit. During our most recent meal, we were surprised and thrilled with the added homey aspect to the bar food. The coleslaw felt lighter than before, and the corn beef was well roasted and served in substantial slices. I love a well-executed French fry – and ones at Gluek’s were dusted in a seasoning salt that added flair. Our dining experience felt like a solid Bavarian homecoming.
