We drove from Kingston to Port Royal, eager to enjoy some lobster. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any, and our order took a long time to arrive. I also ordered steamed bammy, but it came out cold. I was disappointed, especially since I had heard many good reviews about this place. I expected better.

I’ve heard so many good things about this restaurant, so I was honestly shocked by the poor customer service and the quality of the food.It’s possible the wait staff was understaffed, but our wait time for meals an hour.
Before confirming my order, I specifically asked what type of fish was being served and was told it was snapper. When the drinks arrived, one of the drink orders was incorrect, not a major issue on its own, but the server appeared visibly annoyed when the error was pointed out.
When the food finally came, one of my items was incorrect, so I asked for it to be corrected. At that point, I also realized that the fish was parrot fish, not snapper. I do not like parrot fish at all, so this was extremely disappointing. While our server did apologize, there was no effort to make things right beyond that.
Additionally, the presentation of the food was very poor. Given the restaurant’s reputation, I expected much more in terms of care, attention to detail, and overall dining experience.
Unfortunately, this visit did not live up to the hype, and I left disappointed.

Gloria’s in Port Royal is one of my go to places in Kingston. The food is always delicious. I get the brown stew fish with steam bammy and it’s great every time. I will say, the wait time is always a bit long so keep that in mind when you go. But for me, the wait has always been worth it! And at least you can enjoy the sea views while you wait. Great spot for sunset. I’ll definitely be back again.

Very delicious seafood options. I enjoyed my first time experience, I would highly recommend this place to everyone visiting Port Royal. Just keep in mind the preparation of food might take 45 minutes so be prepared but it worth it.

A rustic setting in Port Royal, Gloria’s is know for amazing food. I’ve never had a bad dish. This time was lobster in curry coconut sauce with bammy, plantain, and festival. Just be prepared to wait. The staff is hustling but it’s a very popular place and everything is freshly made.

The food is absolutely phenomenal, well seasoned and filling. We enjoyed everything we ordered throughly and were entertained by the ambiance. The food is cooked to order and although we expected to wait, we did not expect to wait almost two hours just to eat or receive spotty service until then. It would be great to see the service staff improve as our waitress ignored us for the majority of the time we were there. This is a staple of the area and bring your patience, the food is really good!

Service is slow (you’re in the Caribbean just chill and enjoy the view). I do suggest eating a bag a chips to hold you over…BUT when your food arrives prepare for a DELICIOUS MEAL!

One of the best experiences I’ve had. I called in my order and was told that said order would be ready with a required time.
