Pros: The dessert selection looked phenomenal despite not having tried any of it. The fries were seasoned very well, and the burger toppings bar is what you expect of a modern burger joint. Portion sizes were quite generous. Finally, the service was excellent, but sadly that’s where it ends.
Cons: If you like water, skip it for a fountain drink. The water here tastes pretty bad as though the taps are not being cleaned thoroughly. The fries were seasoned well, but they could have been more crispy by frying a minute longer. The burger was OK, but it definitely needed better seasoning. The Philly was disappointing as the bell peppers should have been cooked longer (they were still crunchy) though the flavor was a a bit better than that of the burger. I wouldn’t say it’s the best burger in Chattanooga as I think most people would be more satisfied with any competing fast food restaurant as far as flavor goes (though once again, portion size is better here). Try it at your own curiosity

I didnt know what to expect going in. Good reviews but seemed empty often. Im glad to say the food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. The burger bar to pick my toppings were very fresh and crisp and the sides were excellent. I recommend the fried pickles!

I’m a huge fan of Ankars but I tried the Philly cheesesteak sack from Glen Gene and was pleasantly surprised! It was awesome and well worth the price! Super yummy and I have enough left to take to work tomorrow.

Glen Gene is a Hixson staple. They have fresh ingredients, large portions, and good service. I usually get the Mediterranean or Southwest Salad and it’s always fresh and filling. It’s not a flashy establishment, but it’s always worth a visit.

Today I had the absolute worst sandwich I’ve ever purchased at a fast food restaurant. It was DISGUSTING! I will never spend a penny here again. I ordered a cheese hoagie and got a mushy microwaved disgusting wad of gross cheese. THAT’S IT!!!!! There was NOTHING on it, no lettuce, tomato, mayo, absolutely no toppings. It was just MICROWAVED MUSHY BREAD, not toasted or grilled. It was TERRIBLE. A 4-year-old child could have made this exact sandwich in a microwave with zero assistance. Don’t waste your money here!!! SO GROSS!!!

Cheese steak was dry and flavorless. Clearly tastes like it came out of the freezer, into the microwave with a slice of cheese and onto a hoagie but tastes more like unseasoned boiled meat. For almost $11, not worth it. Wife says the chicken salad was good but she pulled a large piece of gristle out that she bit down on.

I would drive the 1 1/2 from my house to eat here again. The presentation of the burger was amazing. It was served quickly. It tasted amazing. The price wasn’t bad. The fries were great. I always struggle to find a place to eat as a vegetarian. This place came right up in my search engine and I’m glad it did.

Haven’t been here in years and now I’m mad at myself. The food is still as amazing as it has been for years, maybe even better. You have people who care that own the business and it shows. All the employees were amazing as well. I don’t think we have ever been to a “fast” food type place where there was nothing wrong.
Every fry was perfect and my Nooga melt was top tier. The 2 other people I was with agreed with me too.
I’ll be driving from Ooltewah as much as I can now.

This place is so good! I wish we had one in East Ridge! I had a gyro and the pita was so fresh and the gyro meat was delicious. They have a fresh toppings bar with all the sandwich fixings, everything was so fresh! It is also spotless inside and the folks working there are super friendly. We need a East Ridge location on Ringgold Rd!
