Glass Half Full is an hidden gem in Richardson. This little upscale dive bar is attached to the Alamo Drafthouse and they share a full menu of food and beverages including a nice selection of local and Craft beers, 32 taps, classic and specialty cocktails, and spirits.
Take note that the menu found online at the time of this review is dated, and you will have to visit the establishment to find out the current offerings and prices. Likewise, the hours of operation are not always consistent with what is posted online and may fluctuate depending on the daily movie schedule.
Whether you enter the bar through the main lobby of Alamo or its dedicated entry, tucked away under the breezy, covered patio, you will surely be greeted by friendly staff and often encounter jovial regulars.
If you’re lucky enough to snag a spot at the bar top you’ll be sitting on prime real estate, and you’ll have a front row view of the bartenders and servers at work, but there’s usually ample space at the tables and booths inside or on the patio.
Some days, depending on how busy it gets, you’ll have one or two waiters offering table service, but other times you may have to trek to the bar to place your order or close your tab.
If you’re grabbing a quick drink before a movie or just visiting the bar, Glass Half Full is a great spot to do it. Often intimate, and sometimes lively, you set the vibe.

This Taproom is part of the Alamo Drafthouse. You will get the same food as the theatre. The cobb salad was okay. The queso was delicious. 32 beers on tap. Not too busy on a Friday night. Dessert stores next door!!

Went there with a friend. Neither of us realized the taproom was a part of a movie theater. Pretty cool. We ordered garlic chili wings and they were just “okay “. Not enough garlic, definitely not enough chili but cooked perfectly. The drinks were pretty good. I would come here again and maybe even catch a show.

The bartender was so helpful and knowledgeable. The food was delish and the drinks were ice cold. It’s a smidge on the pricey side, but I think that was my fault for timing it outside of any specials or happy hours. The atmosphere was relaxing and the tunes on the overhead speaker were fantastic. I saw the staff be friendly and courteous to other guests as well as each other so that was impressive. Would definitely stop back by to kill time or enjoy an afternoon.

I went here with some girl friends after Industrial Pizza closed across the street. Tiny room, connected to the movie theater entrance. Sticky tables. There were some guys at the bar, but no one else around. A nice man came to get our order. Their drink menu is cool- lots of specialties, but wow, unnecessarily expensive. If I’m going to pay $15 for a drink I’m expecting it to be a lot more than what can fill a whiskey glass, and I’m also expecting to feel SOMETHING, *anything* that resembles a buzz. Their vegan cookies (there wasn’t an option for regular..) were okay. At least they came out warm. Nothing spectacular ♀️

Great place! I love the pub feel. This is inside the Alamo movie theatre. It’s small and can get crowded, but the vibe is good. Outside seating is available and the menu (with GF and vegan options, food allergies taken seriously) is the same as in the theatre. Servers are consistently wonderful. Love it here!

Karsten was a great bartender and was willing to make us anything we wanted. Also offered good suggestions and service that you’d expect from a cocktail bar, not a bar attached to an Alamo. The place has a great selection of liquors for a bar in this area. Hope to come back.

Been here many times, best tavern in plano hands down.
Great drinks good atmosphere. Only downside is the parking, but its downtown plano that’s not their fault, and its absolutely worth it.
