The food is quite simple but so good! Jerk pork chop was wow! The spice blend that they use is quite amazing. I still think about it! Great rice and coleslaw!
Amazing drinks as well! Truly recommend if you are in the area.
Jerk wings (6 piece) had some great kick to it. Well marinated so the chicken actually has flavor rather than just the sauce.
Kalaloo Soup (bowl) was slightly different from what we expected but quite delicious overall. We enjoyed the vegetables and beef in the soup.
Bush Tea was strongly lemongrass flavor with hints of basil
Service: 5/5 – everyone was really friendly and we had no issues as service was quick even though the restaurant was packed.
Ambiance: 5/5 – the lighting is a bit dim but it felt quite homey with paintings on the wall and exposed brick masonry. It had a wine cellar vibe
Value for price: 4/5 – pricing was a bit expensive but it is to be expected since it’s such a touristy area.
I wanted some items off of the lunch menu, but aside from the specials, it’s only breakfast. We had one of the platters, juices, coffee, and sides.
The ham which I think is just Canadian bacon was good. The grits were good. Juices were not fresh. They were pretty watered down.
A little expensive, but overall decently priced.
The server notified us that they were short staffed and she was performing multiple job responsibilities. She told us to hurry up and order and looked annoyed when we asked questions about the menu options. She asked us to be patient about the wait, but had no patience whatsoever for us. When our drinks were brought to the table, she informed us that one person’s order wasn’t available-no cranberry juice. We still felt the disregard and disrespect from earlier and decided to pay for our drinks, cancel our food order and leave. It’s a shame they have someone so mean, rude and severely lacking in proper etiquette to represent this restaurant. I hope the owner reads this or someone who cares about that business reads it so they can make a positive change. The offender is near the beverage machine wearing all black clothes and pink crocs.
I don’t pay people to treat me poorly and we quickly left and went to Indigo 4 for a fantastic brunch and excellent customer service with a smile .
Waitress wasn’t too familiar with the menu or food but he was great and had a positive attitude. Food came quick. I ordered the Cesar salad and it was delicious! The soups were blah. Had better and this taste canned. Coffee wasn’t good either.
That said, everything else we ordered was fantastic. It always feels like an adventure heading into Gladys — the walkway lined with lush plants is just beautiful and sets the perfect island vibe. Still one of our favorite spots on the island!
