Gjelina Take Away is such a win. The squash blossom pizza and the Margherita both hit that perfect balance of light crust, gentle char, and bright flavor. The Caesar is crisp and fresh with a punchy dressing, the turkey sandwich is exactly what you want for an everyday bite, and we ended with the date cake, which was a happy wow.
Huge thank you to Xio for the thoughtful recommendations and for being so kind even though we arrived right before closing. From the street it looks like there is no seating, but there is actually a good amount tucked inside, so it works for a quick bite. The whole experience feels effortless and a little European. Honest take, I prefer the pizza here to Gjelina itself.

Staff were all friendly and helpful with the menu. Everything was delicious! We shared two pastas a pizza and salad + the outstanding Japanese sweet potato dish between three of us. The warm date cake was spectacular!
Recommend having a reservation.

LA has many great places to order a tuna melt. Unfortunately, gjelina is not one of them. the tuna was lackluster and the only flavor came from the butter on the bread. I’d stick to ordering pizzas here (the squash blossom is delicious).

This was one of my best brunches on my recent LA trip. Sure, it might’ve been an hour wait, but here in Melbourne, the top breakfast places on the weekend, you’re waiting a similar amount of time. I enjoyed the food and the menu, it was a bit hard to choose what I wanted! The pancakes were amazing, coffee was slightly on the bitter side. The staff were attentive and friendly. I’d go back and try the dinner menu.

Gjelina Take Away provides a few high tops and a bench out in the front to enjoy your take-out. The space is small but efficient. This is a pizza focused review, as I’ve only had slices and take-out pizza.
The Margherita Pizza slice is one of the best slices I’ve ever had. The fresh basil is generously spread on top of a bed of balanced marinara sauce and medallions of cheese. The crust is thin and calculated with just the right amount of char.
The Margherita is perfect, but I have also tried the burrata and mushroom pizzas for take-out, and they’re just as amazing.

Divine! Service was quick. We got the onion pizza which seems like an odd flavor but is delightful and packed with flavor!! The margarita pizza was just as you would expect but with a extra hint of oregano. The kale salad is a nice compliment offering a fresh and zesty flavor. The portions are not big and the prices are quite high. Well worth it but something to note

Absolutely delicious! A place that deserves its good reputation. Pizza was perfect. Duck confit was cooked perfectly. Desert was amazing. Definitely a place we’ll go back to. I didn’t find prices that high. I’ve eaten much worse around that area for the same amount of money.

Very unique place. It was my first time and I ended up being very pleased. The menu is huge, more than 50 different options. We got dishes to share: mushrooms, coliflower, and the steak. Delicious! The service was nice. They have a very cute outdoor area but those flies poking around were super annoying. No valet but you can easily find street parking on the blocks behind.
