I’m always looking for a new place to eat and Gulia’s is a hidden gem. This was my first time there, I met the owner Al who welcomed me like I was family. This place had an Old school red sauce joint vibe and before I get into the review I’ll let you all know that I’m a foodie, I cook a lot and I have a passion for food.
I had the meatballs and a small cheese pizza.
Washed it all down with a cold DC….
The meatballs would make any nonna proud. They had a great beef flavor, perfect texture, not dry at all. The marinara sauce was also perfect. Fresh tasting, fresh basil, sweet. This joined the clean plate club.
The cheese pizza was just as delicious. The crust was perfectly cooked, had a great chew without being too heavy or floppy. A very well done Neapolitan style pizza. The cheese was of higher quality too, not too oily, you wanted to keep eating it and I did. Another clean plate club nominee.
As a surprise Al had me try a piece of fried eggplant. It hit all requirements to be amazing. Super thin, well coated with breadcrumbs, crunchy, a little salty…it was delicious.
I’m going back, I’m bringing my family, I’m bringing friends, I’m ordering to go, I’m going to try the whole menu. We need to keep places like this open.
My only critique is that some of the plants in the restaurant could be trimmed up a bit. That’s my own preference.

The food is amazing, their pizza is the best I have found around i travel from newington just for it. Its such a family friendly atmosphere you will not be disappointed.

I’d like to leave 3.5 but Google doesn’t do that. We just had pizza. Pizza was very good. Crisp and tasty crust that stayed crispy. Hard to find in Connecticut. Lots of cheese. The large pie is large. A large and a small would be plenty for 4 people. Sauce was on k. My only complaint is charging $4.00 for a half sausage. Not much sausage on the half we should have just gotten a whole sausage pizza. Would not have been a lot of sausage. And on the whole pie. Nice service. Pleasant people.

I’m a die hard New Yorker who knows Good Pizza! I’ve found this hidden gem in Cromwell Connecticut which deserves acknowledgement. Al the owner is a great guy with amazing customer service and as I would call him, a 1 man band. I asked him if they make Baked Ziti for the next time I come for lunch.. his exact words were ” I’ll make whatever you want” Really down to earth guy with a skill set like no other. I ate the”Guilia’s with G” it’s a double layered cheese pizza. Not to be mixed up with an extra cheese pizza! The double layered pizza has 1 layer sauce then cheese followed by another layer of sauce and cheese cooked to perfection. *Chef’s kiss* If you haven’t tried Guilia’s Pizza Restaurant.. what are you waiting for… get going, you won’t be disappointed!

Ordered some pizza today for my daughter’s birthday party at the ice-skating rink nearby. Great food ! Great customer service ! we’ve actually gave them the wrong address and they corrected it extremely quickly. Thank you guys so much. We will be seeing you soon.

I want to start the review by saying that I do have a background in culinary being an executive chef for many years and now teaching culinary.
My wife and I decided to try this place for dinner and we’re not disappointed. In fact, we had a great experience!
I want to also say that everything there is made in house, using quality products, including the rolls for the sandwiches. My wife and I split a rigatoni Bolognese to start. The pasta was cooked al dente, and the meat sauce was authentic and delicious. Next we had a meatball calzone with ricotta cheese and mozzarella. The dough was so good as I was cutting pieces with the meatball and cheese making like little sandwiches, I can honestly say it was great! We also ordered a pizza which is made thin crust nice bubbles coming out of the oven, beautifully brown on the bottom crispy crust. The tomato sauce and cheese of a high-quality as well as the other toppings. I would rate this pizza, an 8.8 out of 10. Leaving room for the pizza meccas In New Haven. If you don’t want to drive an hour, I recommend you try the pizza here! I had to try a half an order of shrimp scampi, the shrimp were done perfectly not overcooked, linguini was al dente, and the sauce is about as good as I’ve ever had, capers, sliced fresh garlic, lemon. I also ordered an Italian cold cut grinder to go with plenty of mortadella, capicola, salami, and pepperoni reminiscent of Franklin giant grinder in the south end of Hartford. I planned on reviewing the restaurant so we also have lunch tomorrow! It’s a gem in Cromwell that shouldn’t be missed!

We had Giulia’s cater our baby shower and the food was a huge hit. Everything was freshly made, delivered on time, great pricing and the staff and owner couldn’t be more friendly. We definitely recommend and will go to them for upcoming events!

I’m usually hesitant when trying wings at a new spot because they’re usually small, meatless and over cooked, but Wow are these wings are delicious.
I usually go for barbecue, but the Owner recommended the Sweet Chili and I’m so happy that he did!
The atmosphere was great, plenty of room to relax, grab a seat (and a beer! )
I thought the menu might be outdated, because everything was so inexpensive, but I was so happy to be wrong. (Every other restaurant charges an arm and a leg!)
This place has a large selection of excellent food at excellent prices and is perfect for takeout or to sit back and relax.
Not to mention that the dining room and open kitchen are spotless!!

Talk about high quality at affordable prices. I’m a huge fan of margherita pizza and believe me when I say this is the best that Cromwell has to offer.
I’ve never been a big fan of thin crust, but this place has changed my mind, with every bite packed with fresh flavor.
I worked in a few pizza places in my life and it’s easy to taste the effort this place puts into making a quality pie.
Whether your dining in, taking out or looking to cater a party this is the place for you when you’re hungry for anything Italian.
