At its core, this is classic New York–style grab-and-go pizza. You order by choosing slices through the glass, with plenty of options that go beyond traditional toppings—standouts like chicken bacon ranch and buffalo-style slices are clearly crowd favorites.
The atmosphere is where Gitto’s really shines. From the outside, it looks like a simple hole-in-the-wall, but once inside, there’s more personality and energy than you’d expect. The complimentary garlic knots were an unexpected and appreciated bonus.
The dough is flavorful and familiar—exactly what you want from a NYC-style slice. I ordered the chicken bacon ranch, and it delivered: not overly sauced (which is key, since ranch can easily overpower), perfectly cooked bacon, and solid chicken that didn’t taste frozen or pre-made.
Pizza is subjective, and this is just my experience—but it’s important to judge Gitto’s for what it is. This is New York grab-and-go pizza, not Italian, Chicago, Detroit, or a big chain like Papa John’s. If you know the style going in and set your expectations accordingly, this place absolutely delivers.
Because of the poor service, we decided to leave and head upstairs to the bar at Gittos, which is connected next door and owned by the same people. That ended up being the best decision we made. Sam was the bartender upstairs, and she gave us an amazing experience. We were able to order food and drinks without any issues and actually enjoy our time.
Unfortunately, the situation didn’t end there. Sariya came upstairs with someone who had instigated the situation and even brought security, which felt completely unnecessary and intimidating. She confronted Sam after someone named Shawn—who frequents both venues—misinterpreted a conversation where I was explaining why we left Sidebar. When Sariya came upstairs aggressively, I made it clear that I was the one who had made the comments. She then loudly claimed that we hadn’t paid our tab downstairs, which was completely false. We had proof of charges from both venues.
The entire situation was unprofessional and made us very uncomfortable. As someone who is also a bartender, I would never speak to guests or handle a situation in that manner.
I do want to give Sam her flowers—she did an outstanding job and turned our night around. Management should really speak with their staff about professionalism and customer service because experiences like this discourage people from coming back.
Per slice it cost around 8$ which is lil bit expensive but it’s down town so it’s would be higher price.
Highly recommend place for pizza slice
