Family-friendly place for straightforward Italian standards including pizza, calzones & subs.

As soon as you walk in it gives exactly that Italian vibe. The customer service was beyond excellent as our waitress brought us samples of things to try to decide. The bread they bring out is so fresh, so amazing and the butter with it wow. I would go just for the bread and butter alone. The lobster ravioli had big chunks of real lobster was so delicious. Did a create your own calzone and their Marianna sauce wow.. ive never had any Italian food taste as good as this place and I’ve travelled all over Italy. We loved it so much, if you want some REAL, GOOD, fresh, authentic food this is the spot. We been wanting to try this spot and glad we did, everyone’s was so kind. Will definitely be back, and definitely recommend trying this spot! (The pictures don’t do it justice trust me)

This weekend, before attending a UCF football game, we stopped at Giovanni’s Pizzeria on Alafaya for dinner.
From the moment we were seated, our server, Bri, truly elevated our pre-game dinner. Her vibrant energy and thoughtful recommendations made us feel like valued guests. While frequently checking in with us, her upbeat attitude and genuine smile were very welcoming.
We started with the Garlic Bread and the Mozzarella Fritta. Both were great, but I have to say that the marinara sauce was really good.
For our main entrees, we went with pizzas. The first one was a build-your-own with pepperoni, basil, garlic, and tomato. Our second one was a Hawaiian with pineapple, ham, and bacon.
For dessert, Bri HIGHLY recommended the Pumpkin Tiramisu. Now, I’m not a big fan of pumpkin, but WOW!!!!!! This Pumpkin Tiramisu was delicious!!!!
So, our pre-game meal at Giovanni’s Pizzeria was definitely a good choice, and Bri deserves a shoutout for making it memorable. Sometimes it’s the people who make the place, and she absolutely did.

Located next to the Publix on Alafaya just north of UCF. Fantastic food, generous portions, pleasant atmosphere, but very slow service, under-staffed location. Staff were very friendly, but it seemed there were only two people to handle the lunch crowd. The food was wonderful and we will definitely check it out again for dinner sometime, but it’s clearly not ideal for a quick lunch. (We were there for about 1 hour and 20 minutes, the majority of that time waiting — for the order to be taken, food to be delivered, and had to go find someone to finally get the check.) The meatball sub is a deliciously cheesy, saucy mess that is hardly contained by the bread, so it’s ultimately a knife-and-fork affair despite being nominally a sandwich. Sides are very basic — both French fries and the steamed vegetable (broccoli) sides were unseasoned and plain. Probably the highlight of the meal was the hunk of bread the server brought out to tide us over before the meal, which was warm and hearty, with a seasoned sweet butter on the side. There are a few outdoor patio seating locations to (theoretically) dine, but they were unable to seat us there due to not having a server to cover it. It might have just been an “off” day; I hope to give it another try sometime (the main food was good, after all, and we loved the bread) and amend my review if the experience is different.

First time going to Giovannis. Tried the garlic knots, meatballs (as a side), lunch portion of the chicken parm, and lasagna, and a small cheese pizza. The pizza really stood out because the crust was light and airy.

I’m specifically addressing take out in this review. Been ordering and eating from Giovanni’s in Oviedo since 2015. It was excellent. I’m from NY and it was NY pizza for about 8 years since I’ve been here. Then things changed and it’s all related to acquisition by iserv LLC in 2023 who also owns Sonny’s BBQ. Ingredients taste vaguely the same, but pizza now comes burnt, half or 3/4 with huge dough bubbles, and it’s just downright awful. If Iserv wants to be anything more than a private equity firm that owns restaurants, it needs to invest time and money into learning the craft of creating and preparing the food their franchises used to make. In terms of Giovanni’s, they need to get skilled pizza makers back in the kitchen.

This place is really hit or miss. Theres been great food that keeps us coming back but then theres flops (rotten lettuce in salads, continuously forgetting my sides of sauce, which are $1.50). However tonight was really too much. I’m not why fried food is sealed in a container with no vent holes, it gets SO soggy. But someone decided to stack all my mozzarella sticks together in a tiny container and sealed them up to steam. I was able to peel them apart at home but this is what I was left with. $11 for flopping cheese is wild

This is hands down one of the best pizzas and pastas I have ever had in Florida. If you are in the oviedo or UCF area, this is where you need to get your pizzas

Great experience here for dinner – AJ was our server and he took great care of us! Garlic bread and house dressing were fantastic. We ordered the Gio Trio and did a build your own pasta of fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, mushrooms, and spinach. Portions are generous!

Tonight was first time I used Uber Eats to order from Giovanni’s. It took quite awhile which was fine. It also wasn’t hot but may not be restaurant’s fault.
My big issue is that I have found restaurant’s absolutely never read special requests. All I wanted (though ordered a lot more) was pasta with sauce on the side. I HATE it mixed. It’s overwhelming. My spaghetti did have the sauce on it and ruined it,
The rest of the food was fine. Garlic knots were quite good.
