We were looking for a different Giovanni’s initially which wasn’t remotely what we were expecting, so we keep on driving. We found this one just out of luck over an hour later, and it was excellent. We dined in and ordered some garlic bread and a 19″ meat lover’s pizza. The whole family loved it and we almost managed to eat that entire monster pizza as a result. This place is FAR away from home, but we would eat here regularly if we lived in town. We really liked the large tables in their dining room. Most places anymore have tables setup for 2-4 people, but we were easily able to sit our large and growing family all together at one table. I’m sure we will eat here again, but it will have to be another special weekend excursion, which is fine. You know how somtimes you get pizza and you get indigestion? That’s because they don’t temper their sauce and they have cheap meat. You won’t get any of that at Giovanni’s. I personally ate enough that if it were possible to get indigestion I would have, but I didn’t. Just a top notch pizza. Highly recommended.

Stromboli was good. I did get my own drink refill because it was right there, and workers were all cooking. Building was old and not kept up well, but it was clean, which is what is most important.

I’m not usually one to go as far to even write a review for a place but after countless times of letting slip ups go ive reached my limit. South shore Giovannis is extremely convenient for me to order being virtually next door to me so I have given them multiple opportunities to prove me wrong, thinking to myself oh it should be okay this time right? Wrong. When I say every single time something from my order has been either completely wrong, burnt or cold I’m not exaggerating. I’ve probably ate here about a total of 10 times in a two year span and each time it’s been screwed up. Usually I just roll my eyes and deal with it because its not even worth the hassle but today I wanted to get the family some food and surprise surprise something is wrong. My wife said her sandwich didn’t taste right and they forgot my sauces for my strips and ranch for my fries now usually this is one of those chalk it up to another gios in south shore experience and move on but like I said after 9 other times of screwups it just set me off I called and let them know they have done something wrong with my food multiple times and I’ve let it slide today I got home and I was upset I had no sauce they offered to give me my sauces but what’s the point when you’re already home ready to eat? I wasn’t expecting free food but they just made me feel dumb for calling in about it so I’m not sure what I was expecting I just know I’ve had enough of the screwups and this was the best recourse i can think of. If some poor soul comes up on this and takes time to read my novel here at least I can either set them up for disappointment for when they order or help them avoid the frustration of spending 25-50 and having their food experience ruined.

We usually just get a steak sandwich here, which is good. However, the rest of the food that I have had is lacking, greatly. I once ordered baked spaghetti and it was swimming in water, I let that go. Just picked up our pizza and it is the worst I have ever had. Bland, with absolutely no flavor. The crust is mushy and limp. I don’t know how you all stay open, much less carry the Giovannis name. Never again. It’s a shame that we can’t support local and are forced to go to Portsmouth to get good food.

Once again another great experience. I usually get Giovanni’s once maybe twice a year due to living out of the state but when I do it’s always great. Only thing I miss is the nostalgia of “Rob the Pizza man” delivering to our home. If I wrote a book about the stories he would tell it would put South Shore on the map for sure.

This place has all of the other local Giovanni’s beat hands down. Service is fast, prices inexpensive, and the food is quality and well-prepared. We order three super-subs via the phone and within 10 minutes (about the time it takes to get there) they are hot and ready.

They call their self Giovanni’s yet they don’t have the same exact menu that other Giovanni’s have and they do not deliver like other Giovanni’s do they do not follow the hungerrush app like other Giovanni’s do they set their own time operation apart from the other Giovanni’s doors, if they’re going to portray yourself as a real Giovanni’s then they need to act like a real Giovanni’s like the rest of them. They have decent to good food but no delivery at all until then they get a one-star from me.

My mother & I were in this area yesterday evening meeting a lady for a quilt set. The ride back to Southpoint was at least 45 minutes, so we decided to eat here. Place was clean, quick service, friendly people & the surroundings felt so comfortable. We ordered the lasagna, baked spaghetti & anti pasta salad it was Great. We sat & watched the Andy Griffith show on TV Land as we enjoyed our food & the friendly atmosphere. This seemed to be a Family go to place & that is how it felt to us. I Recommend this Gionannis to anyone that may be in this area for whatever reason as a wonderful place to eat….

It only gets one star because I HAVE to give it one. Every single time I order and I have ordered many times over the course of 4 years, they always have terrible service as well as getting many things wrong. Including BUT NOT LIMITED TO, charging me double when supposed to have been a 25$ refund, not serving what the menu stated as well as rude service many, many MANY times. I am now completely DONE w this terrible service and food from this place. Coal grove, wheelersburg, portsmouth, West portsmouth have ALLLLLLL BEEN BETTER!!!!!
