This is hard for me to post because I truly want to see new businesses thrive however I just can’t give them a good post. First we were never given the pizza menu when we sat down so after we struggled over the regular menu we were forced to choose over priced entree’s each roughly $25. Imagine even more disappointment when you realize you get no dinner salad with it. The complimentary bread was the best part of the meal. Everything we had tasted like a mix between Italian and Mexican and I could not get my taste buds happy with the contrast. My Ravioli was like taco meat filled ravioli with white sauce it just didn’t sit well. We ordered garlic bread as well and that came out with red seasoning all over it. Again a mix of Mexican and Italian. With this said if you you want to pay a lot of money for a unique Mexican Italian entree without the luxury of a dinner salad to at least fill your belly with something tasty then please at least support this local business. My palette could be very different than others it’s just an opinion and contrary to other reviews our waitress was pleasant and really good.

I’ve seen some of the negative reviews posted here. Either the restaurant has turned itself around, or I got them on a good day. I liked everything about this restaurant. I had a house salad, garlic bread, and lasagna. Although the lasagna was served bolognese style, which I like even better. The waitress was courteous and very pleasant.

So great to be back! It’s been many years since my bride and I have been, having enjoyed many life celebrations at Mama Maria’s in the day. But, I’m not certain the food was ever this great. Other than the fact you could hang meat in there (super cold ) our server Raquel was wonderful, portions and flavor were splendid!

PS to the owner/manager/chef — You should encourage people to try different sauces (maybe list them as options on the menu?) such as with the seafood special, “consider trying alternate sauces — e.g., pesto, Alfredo, creamy tomato!”

Very nice staff and great food! Had the bruschetta and their special for the day (spinach Alfredo with shrimp) all was 10/10! They helped my boyfriend pair a wine with his meal and they accommodated for me (being sober) by making a non-alcoholic daiquiri 🙂 fair price for quality of food, around $70 for two entrees, an appetizer, and two drinks (including wine)

I’m thrilled that this restaurant opened in North Hudson! I stopped by while riding my bike and they were kind enough to let me store it inside. The restaurant LOOKS newly opened, with scuffs on the walls (could use a washing of the walls, or magic eraser?) and the chairs don’t match (look like mis-matched leftover chairs from a previous business). The staff was friendly and the location is convenient to get to (right off a main road). The Hawaiian pizza was DELICIOUS! It came out relatively quickly (10-15 min) and the crust has a buttery, Italian-seasoned flavor (like flavorful breadsticks). I will definitely be back!!

Very disappointed would not recommend at all. Food was terrible and over priced. I would compare it to getting great value noodles and sauce. This has been the worst Italian restaurant we have eaten at.

As long-time patrons of Mama Maria’s, we approached Giovanni’s with high expectations while keeping an open mind. I’m thrilled to report that Giovanni’s not only met but exceeded our expectations!
The atmosphere immediately sets the right tone – the restaurant is clean, bright, and welcoming, with great background music that enhances rather than overwhelms the dining experience. The service staff demonstrated excellent attention to detail and professionalism, particularly impressive given our large party of 14 celebrating multiple birthdays.
The wine service deserves special mention – the pours were generous and well-priced, adding to the overall value of the experience. But the true star of the show was the food. Our large group ordered a variety of entrees, and each dish received enthusiastic praise. The highlight came from our pickiest critic – my 6-year-old son, who declared his Chicken Parmesan worthy of “10 stars.” For context, this is a child who typically takes three bites and declares himself finished, but at Giovanni’s, he cleaned his plate!
Giovanni’s has proven itself to be a wonderful addition to Hudson’s dining scene. While it brings its own unique character rather than trying to replicate other Italian restaurants, it stands proudly on its own merits. We’re already planning our return visit and will be enthusiastically recommending it to friends and family.

My husband was hungry for spaghetti, so we looked up restaurants in North Hudson and found Giovanni‘s. It’s a beautiful restaurant with table cloths, wonderful soft music, a nice wine selection, and excellent Italian cuisine. I asked for angel hair pasta with red meat sauce, and Larry ordered traditional spaghetti and meat balls. We were served excellent salads, warm Italian bread with honey butter, and of course I ordered a glass of Chianti wine. Everything was excellent. Larry and I will be returning again and again as we come through here often. If you’re hungry for an Italian dinner, come … you won’t be disappointed!

5 stars all around! Every single thing we ordered was incredible. We were sharing our plates with each other and we couldn’t get enough. The Caesar salads were incredible. I had the ravioli with white and red sauce combined, and it was die for. I also had the best calamari I’ve ever had in my life and the staff was the icing on the cake. Our server was truly one of the best servers I’ve had in the past few years. Especially in a world where the service industry has been lacking… We will be back over and over and over again. If you like authentic Italian food, this is your place!
